Le Moulin Giraud is a stunning property, privately set in 12 acres of wooded tranquillity on the banks of the Vienne river, with its very own island complete with rowing boat and hammock. The Vienne river valley at this point is very beautiful, peaceful and interesting and is a haven for wildlife, with the likes of deer and birds of prey seen most days in and around the gardens. The south facing property is spacious, stylishly furnished and very comfortable it has a large well equipped farmhouse dining kitchen with woodburning stove and huge part covered terrace complete with table, chairs seats 8 and additional seating overlooking the river making it perfect for entertaining on balmy evenings or for lazy lunches and dinners. Le Moulin Giraud also has a large dining room seating 8 plus a comfortable seating area and an equally large comfortable lounge with woodburning stove making it ideal for 2 family's or for those who prefer lots of space and comfort.

Although very private Le Moulin Giraud is only 2km from the beautiful Medieval town of St Leonard- de-Noblat nestling in the foothill's of the Massif Central with it's 11c Romanesque church and superb facilities including, restaurants, cafe bars, supermarkets, shops, hospital in fact just about everything you could wish for on your doorstep. However it doesn't end there if you decide to stay at Le Moulin Giraud as one of France's largest lakes Lac Vassiviere is very close with a beautiful easily accessed 48km shoreline, Lac St Helene is even closer at 10km away both are popular with water sport enthusiasts, but also with anglers, cyclists, walkers, birdwatchers etc. Change of mood? the lovely city of Limoges with all of it's cosmopolitan sophistication is a mere 18km away!

Our experience of Le Moulin Giraud

The house has a great setting - very private in its grounds and great views over the river . The kitchen was very well equipped - loads of dishes , pots and pans for those who enjoy cooking . The terrace outside was excellent for eating meals and relaxing.

Although we ate in a lot - there are a variety of restaurants in the village about a mile away.

The bedrooms are a good size and the children enjoyed the pool table , english TV and the interesting collection of books.

There are a number of good places to vist in the area , such as Limoges, some scenic walks and lakes and if you really want to go further a field the beautiful town of Sarlat is 2 hours drive.

Overall we would really recommend this property .

Idyllic and tranquil week at Le Moulin Giraud

Le Moulin Giraud is a wonderful place. My familiy and I really enjoyed our stay there.

The property and grounds were idyllic, décor and facilities were brilliant and surrounding area wonderful.

Communication with the owner has been a pleasurable and friendly experience, customer service was excellent. The property was clean and well maintained throughout.

If you can drag your self away from this wonderful place 5 minutes up the road is the charming village of St Leonard de Noblat which has numerous small shops and a couple of supermarkets. There are plenty of places to eat and drink also Limoge is well worth a visit.

I would certainly recommend Le Moulin Giraud to all my friends,
