My partner Polly and I both love collecting antiques, renovating houses, traveling, and reading. I have four children ages 18 to 25, and the youngest two enjoy spending their summers at the beach with us, working at a nearby restaurant. While my primary job is managing The Victoria Inn, I have lots of other “part-time” jobs. Polly and I are both adjunct professors in the Continuing Studies Department at Villanova University, teaching in the Paralegal Certificate Program. I teach real estate, estate planning and ethics. Polly teaches Information Systems. I have my law degree from Widener and my LLM from Villanova. Polly has a Bachelor’s in Paralegal Studies from Widener, her Master’s in Information Systems from Drexel University, and is currently pursuing a Six Sigma Certification. Polly works for ADT Security as a Senior Analyst, Environment, Health, Safety and Wellness. I am an attorney with a small practice limited to estates and real estate. Fortunately, Polly is quite handy and enjoys making improvements to the Inn. I’m constantly redecorating, so returning guests always find something new! We are both avid antique collectors and have a small shop in Seaville, NJ. Most weekends, time permitting, we are at estate sales, garage sales, or antique stores. It’s one of our favorite ways to spend an afternoon. We’ve had so much fun renovating, furnishing and decorating our house. If you are looking for a true home away from home, this is your vacation home!

Why Susan chose Boardwalk
WE ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! We love the history, architecture and charm of old homes. Our house was built in 1915 and we have spent the last ten years renovating the Victoria Inn, making it an absolutely idyllic vacation retreat. We're so excited for the Inn's 100th birthday celebration next year! We love old homes and the family-friendly atmosphere of Ocean City - a fun, safe place to vacation. OC has won many awards and was recently named the greatest family vacation resort by Travel magazine. It's comforting to allow the children to explore the town without worrying about bars on every corner as found in many other south jersey beach towns. We are located 1 block to the beach and 2.5 mile boardwalk. Every block of our fabulous beach is guarded, & the 7th Street beach is a guarded beach only for surfing. With so much to do, you can walk anywhere and avoid paying for parking! The boardwalk has 2 great amusement piers, a water park, several mini-golf courses, music pier, arcades, surf shops, a movie theater, dozens of stores, and every kind of 'fun food' imaginable: ice cream, pizza, salt water taffy, caramel corn, water ice, candy, fudge, French fries, seafood, smoothies, cotton candy, and more. We are just a couple of blocks to the 100+ shops and many restaurants on Asbury Avenue, a great shopping venue for a girls' weekend or a break from the hot sun! Less than a block from our home you will find 12 tennis courts, a track, football field, shuffleboard courts, basketball court, & beach volleyball. You can rent bicycles for a morning ride on the boardwalk. Just a few blocks away is the bay where you can rent jet skis, go deep sea fishing, crabbing, enjoy a whale & dolphin watching cruise, go parasailing, or enjoy a delicious meal. If you just want to relax, our wrap-around deck is a terrific spot to savor your morning coffee, read a book, play a game, people watch, or enjoy cocktails. The courtyard is perfect for celebrations with seating for 40!
What makes this house unique
The Victoria Inn is a truly unique setting for fantastic summer vacations, intimate weddings, fabulous birthday parties, memorable anniversaries, festive holiday celebrations, & fun-filled family reunions. Newly married, Polly and I especially enjoy hosting weddings, & we will gladly assist you in planning the perfect event! Our lovely, fully enclosed courtyard, reminiscent of a French Cafe, has seating for 40 at fabulous wrought iron tables & chairs with many potted, hanging & climbing flowers, & hundreds of tiny white lights. With accommodations for up to 40, the Victoria Inn provides a reasonably priced retreat venue, ideal for corporate, youth & spiritual retreats. Meeting space for large groups is available just a few blocks away. We will gladly assist with reservations.
From mid-June to the Saturday of Labor Day Weekend, we have weekly rentals only. However, unlike most rental properties, we rent year-round. From September to mid-June, a 2 night minimum stay is required, except for holidays when a 3 night minimum stay is required.
In addition to celebrations, guests have gathered for Creative Memories Scrap-booking, Mah-Jong weekends, yoga and spiritual retreats, & many youth groups. Ocean City also hosts many special events including the M.S. Bike-a-thon, ALS walk, antique car show, Spring & Fall Block Parties, craft shows, art shows, Easter Egg Hunt with 100,000 eggs, Decorated Hat Parade, Halloween Festivities, Trick-or-Treating, Hayrides on the boardwalk, Music Festivals, Breakfast with Santa & Free Horse & Carriage Rides! Just steps from our house are all of the fabulous First Night (New Year's) Activities with fireworks, rides, musicians, shows & magicians.
Conveniently located, 20 minutes to Atlantic City’s casinos & terrific shopping outlets; 30 minutes to historic Cape May with its famous zoo, many antique stores, dozens of shops, Victorian homes & fantastic restaurants, 1 hour to Philadelphia, & 2.5 hours to New York City.
Guestbook comments from the owner
This is a review that was submitted about our home to a partner website: My friends and I spent the last two New Years Eve weekends at the house,
and it's a very nice place to stay. There's lots of rooms, so people can be
together, or have privacy if that's what they prefer. Everything is clean and
well-maintained. We actually rent 2 of the condos as well as the main house,
and the extra kitchens come in very handy. It's close (within one block) to the
boardwalk, where they serve the best french fries in the world, and walking
along the beach is lovely any time of year. The landlords are gracious and
friendly, and the house is exactly as they describe.
