Killorglin Cottage Rental Photos and Description
3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, sleeps 6
Our cottage, Babbling Brook, is set on just over half an acre of land and offers contemporary living accommodation in the heart of Kerry countryside. Accommodation is spread across one level and rooms are light and spacious. The cottage is equipped with all modern facilities and has wood and tiled floors throughout.
It features a large, open-style modern kitchen/diner with an opening into a sun-room with a small snooker table; patio doors lead from the sun-room onto a patio with garden table and chairs. There is a comfy lounge with three sofas, open fire, satellite TV, DVD and video player.
The two double bedrooms have en suite facilities, and the twin bedroom is adjacent to the family bathroom.
We are Danny & Ali. Our cottage, Babbling Brook, in beautiful Caragh Lake is very special to us; Danny’s family is from this region. It is our second home, our retreat, and we like to escape here with our family and friends as much as our busy London lives allow!
Nearest beaches: Babbling Brook is just 3.5 miles (less than 10 minutes' drive) to the unspoilt, Blue Flag Rossbeigh Beach and to Dooks - both sandy beaches.
Golf: 10 minutes' drive from the cottage is Dooks, a traditional links 18 hole golf course with beautiful views over looking the Atlantic. Other nearby golf courses include Killorglin (10 minutes' drive), Beaufort (15 minutes' drive), Killarney (25 minutes' drive) and Tralee (30 minutes' drive).
Fishing: Caragh Lake and Caragh River, containing salmon and trout, offer excellent fishing opportunities.

Guestbook comments from the owner
I have stayed at this lovely cottage on two occasions - once with a friend and also with my grown up children. The cottage is spotlessly clean and modern but not austere. There are pictures on the wall and books to enjoy which give Babbling Brook a homely feel. The bedding and towels are far nicer than I've sampled in hotels and the beds are really comfy. The kitchen is fabulous and the size lends itself to family gatherings. With comfy sofas in the lounge you really can relax in the evenings and enjoy peace and tranquility. As there is the most spectacular scenery, this is an area to be explored and enjoyed. A car is a necessity but as the roads are much quieter than the south east of England, it is a pleasure driving. Wherever you go, there are places to stop and take in the views. There are some excellent areas for walkers, in particular The Gap of Dunloe. I can recommend Kate Kierney's cottage which is an atmospheric pub at the entrance to this area which sells great irish coffees! A day out in Dingle is worth the drive. It's a seaside town which although attracts the tourists, is none the less quite chic with some nice craft shops. The restaurants in the Kerry area tend to be within hotels and without exception serve some excellent food. If you're on a budget, I would suggest you shop in the large Tescos or Lidls and make use of the freezer in the cottage. I can truly recommend Babbling Brook to families, couples or groups of friends. For people who love the outdoors it is just perfect and for those who want to enjoy scenery from the comfort of a car, the excellent roads with vantage points, make the experience unforgettable.
