Half timber traditional Tirolean family house, in a beautiful setting just a very short stroll from the village centre (1 minute!) and the ski lifts (5 minutes max in boots!). There is a lovely garden, great views and a very warm atmosphere. The house has been the subject of sympathetic restoration and ongoing renovation programme over the last few years. For 2009 there is a new beautiful luxury family bathroom upstairs, a new SAUNA and a new ski drying/store room. The One Bedroom Garden Flat sleeps up to 5 people, was totally refurbished in 2005 and is appointed to a very high standard with wooden floors, modern kitchen, luxury bathroom with underfloor heating. Recently completely renovated to a very high standard, this flat is light and airy, modern and comfortable. It is very well appointed and has it's own access to the garden. The flat has a double bedroom, open plan sitting/dining area and a fully fitted luxury kitchen. There is a luxury bathroom with double ended bath, shower and underfloor heating. There is also a laundry room with washig machine. Decor is light and bright with wooden floors throughout.

Winter - Skiing: The house is just a short stroll from the first lift of the Ski Welt system - over 100 lifts and 250km skiing. It is literally across the road and past the small local car park. For most of the season you can ski right back to the house.

Ski: Ski Welt is Austria's largest inter-linked ski area, which includes Going, Ellmau, Soll, Itter, Westendorf & Brixen. Over 250km of skiing and 100 lifts. Most of the area is well served by cannon for artificial snow coverage and it all starts right across the road from our house! You would be hard pressed to find a better ski house location in this area. Serious ski-safari folk can also get a vanderpass to include the whole Kitzbuhel ski region as well, accessible by car, bus or interlinked ski-lift.

Golf: There are at least 14 golf courses within 1 hours drive of the house. The nearest is in Ellmau, which includes a driving range, walkable from the house or a 2 minute drive.

We (2 adults, a nine year old and a 7 year old) had a week in the Graden Flat at New Year. It was a fabulous week and we've already booked to return in the summer and again next winter. The flat is very comfortable with a well equipped kitchen and luxury bathroom (with underfloor heating). There is a double bedroom (lovely) and a sofa bed (not as comfy as the bed!). The village of Going is small but very pretty, with stunning mountain views all around. It has a very tempting bakery, a small supermarket and some restaurants. The ski school is very close by and extremely well run, it also hires and stores ski equipment. The skiing on the mountain above the village is varied and quiet, it is also very easy to connect up with the rest of the Ski Welt, which is a masssive ski area. We are going back in the summer to walk, swim, cycle and eat!

Lovely Apartment & Location

The garden flat is great, wonderful bathroom, very modern kitchen and bedroom. We also really liked the village of Going, a nice peaceful village with a small supermarket and good eating places.
We like to walk and found it very easy just to shut the door and go out for the whole day nearby although we did drive to other mountains. The WilderKaiser Valley is gorgeous!
We liked it so much we're going back this year for 2 weeks!

Easter2008

As the main house was occuppied myself and family, 5 in total, took the apartment for a week.
We had friends staying in Kitsbuhel, and whilst wanting to meet up on the odd occassion for skiing a little time to ourselves as a family was great.
The apartment had plenty of room for our small kids.
It had good facilities which all seemed pretty new. I think the wife was more impressed with the kitchen than ours back home, but you know we save money for hols.
BUT What a bath. Great after a day on the piste. All 3 kids got in on one occasion.
Nice garden for kids to play in. Off the main road.
Ski hire, slopes, small bars and supermarket near by.
We had good snow and maybe came close to sticking in it, but still didn't put the chains on. Ah well.
Close to motorway.
OK to find, and reasonable price.
I think we'd go again......... ENJOY

Ski holiday 2008

Thank you for a great week in beautiful Going. Our family (parents + 3 children, aged 5, 10, 13) had a perfect winter holiday in your lovely flat, which is very comfortable and well equipped.

The weather conditions couldn't have been better. One meter snow, blue sky, sunshine and up to +15 degrees (Celsius). No long queues to the lifts. The friendly people, both in the ski area and down in the village, made us feel so welcome.

The location of Going is also perfect; a short distance from the airport in Munich (where we hired a car) and possibilities to visit Salzburg for example, which we did one day.

Everyone of us is looking forward to be back next year (already booked).... see you next year Going!

A wonderful place to come home to

We had a super holiday in the garden flat which is a perfect haven at the end of a day exploring the beautiful Tyrol. The flat is very well equipped with every home comfort, the thought that has gone into the place is apparent. And the bath is heaven at the end of a long day!
Going is a perfect Austrian village, lovely traditional restaurants, friendly people, well stocked small supermarket and a brilliant bakery, oh and make sure you buy a "I'm Going to the mountains" t-shirt from the tourist information office! Ellmau is just a short walk or drive away if you want something a little livelier or need a large supermarket and there are many wonderful places to visit within the area. There is a great outdoor swimming lake in Going, a large sports centre with several outdoor pools and fun slides in Ellmau and an abundance of beautiful outdoor lakes to swim in locally.
It is easy now to get cheap flights to Austria from many of the budget airlines and we picked up a car at the airport which allowed us to explore but the location would also suit anyone without a car.
We would recommend the graden flat to anyone who wants a relaxing or active holiday in a beautiful unspoilt village in one of the loveliest countries in Europe.
