Kaanapali Alii has long been considered the most prestigous oceanfront resort condominum located directly on Kaanapali Beach. Adjacent to Whalers Village the largest out door shopping mall on Maui offers you get proximity to a myriad of unique boutiques, restaurants, evening entertainment and of course all the water sport activities that one would expect to find at a first class oceanfront resort. Two 18 hole golf courses, tennis facilities, white sandy beaches all right in your own back yard! Just 5 minutes to Lahaina Towne...there is just no better location!

Our oceanview unit offers a unique floorplan that includes an enclosed den to essentially create a third bedroom. We've taken great care to select finer hawaiian style furnishings that are not only designer selected but comfortable. You'll find our kitchen generously supplied although we would encourage you to consider our personal grocery service. This is expecially great if you're arriving late in the evening. Once you've confirmed your accommodations you'll receive a grocery list which you simply check off the items you wish to have stocked for you upon arrival. It's great and so easy!

Our unit is quite large with spacious lanais that are perfect for outdoor dining and sunbathing. Truly one of the best features you'll find is the outstanding views from every room. They are all simply breathtaking! Central AC, TV's (3) DVD, CD, and washwer and dryer are just a few of the amenities available to you for added convenience.

Love the Alii and this unit, although the bathrooms could use an upgrade the unit fit our needs perfectly. All the beds are brand new (they delivered during our stay and they are awesome!) The views are spectacular and love the big lanai - too bad they won't let you have a bbq on the lanai though. We would stay in this unit again ~ the price is unbelievable for what you get. Kitchen is loaded with more than you need and we liked the beach chairs and toys for the kids. Love the floor plan - huge unit. We've always stayed at the Hyatt so these units are a fabulous value! Thank you we'll be back!S

Kaanapali Alii Fantastic- Room so-so

We have stayed at the Alii three previous times and always booked directly with the resort. We just returned from six nights at this unit and the results were a mixed bag. First, the positives. Renting this unit from VRBO saved us a little under $200 a night over the standard resort price so all comments need to be viewed in that light. Second, the Alii is a magnificent property. Un-crowded, and beautiful. The unit has great views. The shower heads are terrific (coming from low flow California). The floor plan spacious.
The third bedroom was great as there were six of us in the unit. Now, the negatives. First the unit looks "tired" This is a 3 million dollar condo and the sectional sofa has a board stuck in it to keep its occupants upright. My wife ended up putting beach towels over the couch before she would sit on it. The walls need a fresh coat of paint and the carpet is old. Just updating the unit in these areas would make a world of difference.
Lastly, the unit next door had major renovations going on all during our stay. The hallway was full of drop cloths that we had to walk through each day. Our final day, we came home after a half day sail ready to nap and we were treated to 5 straight hours of incredibly loud drilling on the common wall. It was so bad I knocked on their door and asked what they were doing. They were hanging wonder board on the wall for tile. I called the Beachfront rentals to see if they knew about the renovation as the tile guy said the renovation had been going on for weeks. Beachfront said they didn't know and there was nothing to be done. That is the downside of not renting through the resort. You can't complain to them or change rooms.

FANTASTIC Location!

We just got home from here.. .stayed 5 nights in this wonderful condo... it was spacious and roomy... THE shower was AMAZING... great water pressure. I think the only complaint we all had was the 3 chairs at the table on the lanai... weird... there should be at least 4, but with a condo sleeping 6-8 I'm thinking a table for 6 would be best... We ate out there every night. I loved the pool area, great for a toddler.. the people at the pool were very friendly. We ended our stay at Honua Kai, I will be back to KA for sure!

Great Condo!

This was our second stay in this unit and third stay at the Alii. The unit is as advertised and met all of our expectations. This unit comfortably sleeps 6-8 without feeling crowded, and the remodeling in 2012 is apparent when compared to 2011. The Alii is a terrific property and there is a lot to do within walking distance including great snorkeling at Black Rock ( a short walk away) or even just off the beach (there is a reef about 50 yards off the beach) and shopping at Whaler's village. Overall, this property is a great value.

Fabulous Spot!

Great grandparents, grandparents, parents and baby all stayed in this 3 bedroom condo. We all agree we would rent this place again in a heartbeat! There was plenty of space in each bedroom and on the lanai, a fabulous view, on the beach, and great pool area for all ages. The grounds were VERY well kept and this place is within walking distance to all the fun hang out spots. We used the BBQ area many times and it was always clean and inviting. The staff was excellent and very helpful. Everything represented in the pictures was as presented. The ONLY recommendation we have is more wine glasses and a set of smaller plastic cups. We had a wonderful, memorable stay celebrating a birthday. Thank you!!!

Just the facts maam!

This is our fourth year in a row at the Alii. We didn't go through Classic as they wouldn't allow more than 6 per room. Another couple with their two children joined us giving a total of 7, which was allowed through this booking. I was a bit concerned after reading other reviews so I'll straighten out a few items from previous reviews.
1) All of the beds were comfortable, no complaints from anyone
2) Better wine glasses would be nice, but this is exactly what we have seen for wine glasses in every other Alii suite that we have stayed in.
3) The bathrooms were up to date, have been renovated.
4) The condo was spotless on arrival, looked like the carpets had been just steamed.
5) As far as updates go, this is in the middle, we have had one with way more updates, one with way fewer and one that was about the same.
6) We missed the pool towel service but quickly became accustomed to it. The dryer takes a while to dry 6 towels at once, so does every other dryer. The washer dryer team is getting a bit long in the tooth, but nothing that you can't work around.
7) We really didn't see a lot of difference in how this condo was equipped verses any other condo that we have stayed in at the Alii.

The view from the lanai is great, you catch both the mountains and the ocean on the Marriot side of the Alii. Not much to say about the Alii other that there is a reason why we have come back here four years in a row, the condos, the space and the staff are fantastic, and there is a reason why we looked around at how to get in here with 7 people in the room. Maui Beachfront was a pleasure, a lull in bookings the day we left so we were able to extend checkout for an extra day of lazing around before catching the red eye (for a reasonable price of course)!

If you have a booking coming up and are reading reviews, relax, you'll like this place. If you are thinking of booking, this is a great choice.

We use your feedback to really find where we can improve, and to also understand what we're doing right. We have put new wine glasses in the unit, along with a backup set in the closet. Keeping things new and clean as possible is always a high priority, so thank you for mentioning that. As you also stated, we will accommodate larger party sizes that other booking agencies will not, and if we have the availability and you find yourself looking to extend your stay, we can usually accommodate that as we did in your case. Hopefully we can be your choice for a fifth year in a row on your next pass. It was great having your as our guest. Mahalo.

Wonderful place to stay!

This condo is exactly what we were looking for! There were three couples and we had the right amount of space for everyone to enjoy time doing what they wanted as well as spend time together. I was a little bit apprehensive after reading some of the other comments, but as soon as we arrived that all disappeared. The condo is well maintained and we had no complaints with anything. The beach towels that are included in the property are fine for what we needed them for. The pool towels are not included in the rental; however, what is included is the terry-cloth chaise covers. I did not know this until the last day and I wish someone would have let me know sooner. The covers make lounging at the pool more comfortable. You are given a reserved parking space which is covered. There are a couple of beach chairs, an umbrella and a boogie board. We never used them, but they are in the laundry room. The washer and dryer are stacked and you cannot expect to fill them up as much as you would at home. Afterall, this is Hawaii and a few t-shirts, shorts and swimsuits are all that you should bring with you anyway! Also, there is a safe in the room, however, we were never able to get it to lock. The knives are not very sharp, but we got along just fine; there were only two stemmed wine glasses, but we used another type of glass; no one complained that the beds were uncomfortable, in fact everyone slept really well; dish soap, etc. are included.

We did have a problem with the dishwasher but one call and someone was over to get it taken care of for us. It did take a couple of days to get the problem completely fixed, but we made do with washing by hand.

We bought food at Costco (A MUST). We bought steaks, chicken, sausages, etc. and cooked on the grills by the pool. What a fun time! You get to meet people from all over the world and share your food and experiences with each other. This was one of the best things we did! We also rented beach cabanas for a couple of days - very relaxing.

The location of this property is amazing! You will find something for everyone in this central location. Snorkeling at Black Rock (we saw a turtle); shopping/eating at Whaler's Village, beach, etc.

Beachfront Rentals personnel made this vacation one of the best we have had. They were always very helpful, considerate, and easy to work with. Everyone at the Kaanapali Alii were likewise some of the best people around and we are already planning our next visit!
