The position of this apartment is very central, very close to San Marco, to the Ponte di Rialto and the Fenice Theatre. This makes of this apartment a desirable place for a relaxing holiday, in the heart of the enchanting city of Venice. Positioned near the small “campiello” towards the entrance of the famous theatre of the artists from which the name originates, the apartment is on the first floor (about 20 steps up) In a Venetian house, easily recognizable for the “patera” an artistic decoration which for centuries has ornamented the house. The apartment is approximately 90 square metres and is very light; it has 10 windows, 6 of which are original stained glass original from the 18th Century. Recently refurbished (January 2008) it has central heating , air conditioning in both bedrooms and in the dining/living room. Tucked away in a quiet corner of Venice, only a short distance from Saint Mark's Square, the apartment offers the enchantment of a gondola-filled canal.

The apartment, being very central, it is easy to reach the public transport links which are: S.M.del Giglio, San Marco (vallaresso), Sant’Angelo, Rialto.

The large bedroom has views onto the canal where there are two small balconies where you can sit looking at the passing boats and gondolas maybe drinking a nice glass of prosecco. The second room, very large, has three windows and balcony and looks onto a small private garden, which is the studio of a famous Venetian painter.

Notes: The kitchen is practical and functional, it has all the necessary to be used for who likes to cook, there is an eclectic oven, gas hob, microwave and dishwasher and all the necessary to cook. The dining area look onto a canal where many gondolas pass singing serenades. All guests have WI-FI broadband internet and satellite TV, a map of Venice and information on interesting sites, concerts, museums and much other useful information.

Great Location in Venice

The apartment is in a terrific location near the Fenice Opera House. We got lots of great information from Furio, the manager. The best stop to use is Giglio water taxi stop. We took a gondola ride from the same stop and also had our airport transfer water taxi pick us up there. Only two bridges to cross. On the final day we found a way to get to San Marco square with fewer than six bridges. The kitchen is small but we were only making breakfast and then out to explore. The best advice we found was to allow yourself to get lost and if you see something, i.e. souvenir, restaurant, stop then and there since you may never find again easily. The master bedroom seemed like it should have been a sitting room. beautiful windows that opened onto the canal. We took a water taxi to Murano and another to Lido. We sat on the free beach for a couple of hours. It was nice and relaxing, at least during the week. The apartment was very neat and clean. I would recommend ot a friend. We had five people in our party ages 13-69. Teens/families would do well to stay here.

Furio’s apartment is centrally located behind the La Fenice theatre, a stone’s throw from the main shopping street & St Mark’s square. Is clean & was fun watching the gondolas glide by beneath the windows.
Is also next to the very good restaurant, Aquapanna, so even though we finished dinner late, there was no problem returning safely to our apartment. He gave very good recommendations for food.
Had a fun time exploring Venice & because of its convenient location, had no problem returning for a rest before heading out again.
Good for adult families as Venice is not a place for very young children.

The apartment was clean and well maintained. I would recommend this apartment for the location alone, it is 5 mins away from St Marks Square. The children loved watching and listening to the gondoliers sing as they passed by the window. I would return to this apartment for that experience in itself. The owner Furio was friendly and approachable. Furio showed us to a corner shop and we purchased a handful of items for 36 euros. There are cheaper supermarkets, but out of the way, best to do your research before you go out there.

Excellent apartment in a great position

It's a lovely apartment, and you get a regular stream of singing gondoliers past the window. The plug-in mosquito repellants work, but we did get very bitten before we discovered them, after sitting with the windows open admiring the passing traffic. Furio was very helpful and Venice is a wonderful place.

The apartment was in easy walking distance of St Mark's Sq and the Accademia, and we had no problem walking everywhere else, only used vaporetti to go out to the lagoon islands.

Our teenager didn't benefit much from the sights of Venice, but she did like the wi-fi in the apartment.

Outstanding Apartment in Great Location

We spent 4 nights at Apartment Alla Fenice. It was wonderful. The location was perfect - right on a canal and within a few yards of La Fenice opera house. Throughout the day we could hear the sounds of opera singers warming up or of gondoliers singing to their guests. Furio, our host, provided excellent information about the area and walked us to a local market which was less than 5 minutes away, and an ATM machine, also within a few minutes. The apartment was very well presented. We highly recommend this apartment. If you do stay there, you must take a tour of the La Fenice Theater.
