There is a good range of shops in the town of Alès, five kilometres away.
Saint Jean du Pin is on the southern fringe of the Cevennes mountain range, which rises from the Mediterranean and carries on to the mountains of the Massif Central. La Vigne Vierge is about 300 metres above sea level, and lies next to the Cevennes National Park.
