About Steve and Patty Eames
We grew up in Northern California, and after finishing college, came to to Kona side of the Big Island, looking for a place to settle down and raise a family. A Japanese coffee farmer put us to work, and soon we had our own coffee farm in Honaunau. Steve's love of animals led him to raise large macaws, including Hyacinths, Greenwings, Scarlets, Blue & Golds, as well as Amazons and African Grey parrots while our girls were growing up. Patty's Outrigger canoe paddling has taken us around the Pacific Rim and beyond. Our daughters currently live on Oahu, one a firefighter, the other a nurse.
Steve and Patty Eames purchased this house in 2014
Why Steve and Patty Eames chose Volcano
We love the coolness and tranquility of the Volcano area. The misty rain can change to brightest of blue skies in a very short time, dramatically different from our home in Kona. We looked at several properties, before we noticed this one tucked away, screened from the road by ohia and magnolia trees, but only a block away from the main highway. When we were able to see inside the house, it just felt 'right'. We have enjoyed spending time here as we make upgrades and give it some 'TLC'
What makes this house unique
A large front porch, a lanai off the dining/living area, and a deck off the master bedroom make it possible to sip your morning coffee or afternoon tea in comfort while listening to the sounds of birds and enjoying the refreshing mountain air, greenery and brightly colored flowers that surround you. The many large windows bring the outdoors to you while in the kitchen, living or bedrooms. The front door frames a wonderfully unique stained-glass volcano scene.
Guestbook comments from the owner
Dear Patricia, Good morning, Yes indeed, we had very good time in Volcano, and very good staying in your house. Everything is fantastic! We even had a BBQ night there!!! All family was happy!!! Only one little detail. The curtains should be better. Too much light coming in. Gary was very helpful and a great person! Kind regards, Zong
Thank you for feedback. The curtains are next on our list of continuing upgrades. Aloha
