Romantic corner loft at State and Main streets in the heart of downtown

Located at the corner of State and Main Streets in downtown Harbor Springs, this 2nd floor corner loft sleeps 2 adults in a California king size bed comfortably. As you wake, you'll glance out one of your large windows and sneak a peek of the weather and the happenings on main and state streets below. Venture down the stairs and enter the middle of the village instantly. You'll find a warm cup of joe, newspaper, and a cooked to order breakfast in no time. You may opt to keep the slippers on and brew your own coffee in your complete kitchen while surfing the net and cable tv. The space is wifi complete and ready for you. As the day unfolds, stroll to the pier or the beach as they're only a block away. Hop on your bike and ride the bike path on M119, north thru the canopy of trees or back through town. About Dave Trachtenberg

As a boy, I counted the mile markers heading north on Interstate 75. Traveling from the flatlands and cornfields of Ohio, the contrasting landscape of Northern Michigan is what really comes to mind. The fir and birch trees that grew more into forest the further north we drove. I remember the contrasts in temperature and was amazed at how much cooler it became in the month of August, the calendar went from summer to fall in an instant.

As a young man, I took my first job as a dock porter on Mackinac Island. My chief responsibility was to greet hotel guests at the ferry dock and assist them with their luggage to their hotel or b&b. Guests would generally tip me to ride their luggage on my bike to the hotel. 'Dockporting' was the best job I ever had, I got paid to work out of doors and ride a bike! On my days off, I would catch a ferry ride to the mainland, pickup some McDonalds or anything else that was unavailable on the island and set off for a ride south on M119. Passing through Good Hart, taking a break on the old wooden bench outside the general store, I'd ride further south to historic Legg's Inn in Cross Village and hear the bartender talk about how Bob Seager was just there, and how I had just missed a spontaneous set of his hit songs. From Legg's, I'd race through the canopy of trees with the sunlight flickering on and off over my shoulder, winding down the hill into Harbor Springs. I'm thrilled to now literally have a little corner of the village, and I'm happy to share the space now with you! :)

Downtown Harbor Springs Winter Fun!

  • 5 of 5

This clean upstairs flat in the heart of downtown Harbor Springs was a real enjoyment. Walking distance to great restaurants and fun shopping. If you are getting away for a romantic weekend or heading to the slopes to ski this place is perfect for a couple! I would love to revisit and stay in the Summertime. Thank you to Dave (the owner) who was great to communicate with and set up our visit.

Great Place!

  • 5 of 5

Well appointed, clean, comfortable, and great location! My wife and I decided at the last minute to join a large group of friends skiing and snowboarding at Boyne Highlands. The friends were staying at the Boyne property which was full by the time we decided we were going. And it turns out we were glad Boyne was sold out. Had it not been sold out we would not have discovered this apartment. Boyne is just a few minutes away and is great for families with kids, we certainly enjoyed staying at Boyne when our kids were young. But after a full day on the slopes it's nice for the older folks to escape Boyne for some peace and quiet. This rental is perfect for that and perfect for two. As I write this there are only three other reviews on this property, all 5 stars. I agree with everything the other three wrote in their reviews. We look forward to returning.

Lovely condo!

  • 4 of 5

We stayed for four nights as a long NYE ski weekend. We were pleasantly surprised with how much the unit felt like home away from home. It was perfectly comfy and nicely decorated with a ridiculously comfortable king-sized bed. It is a small studio that doesn't feel cramped and the kitchen is perfectly stocked with everything you would need. We had an issue with the heating but Dave was wonderfully attentive, he was at the ready and offered a credit for the inconvenience. So, even though it was chilly (though, realize also the outdoor temps were in the single digits!), the fact that he cared and did what he could to help makes it all still a good review from my end. We thought maybe by keeping the blinds closed through the day (while you're out) might help keep more heat in. Note that in the winter months, there is a parking map in the unit explaining where you can park overnight since street parking is not allowed due to plowing schedules. It is a block, maybe two away which is VERY easy. Highly recommended and we would love to stay again for a summer getaway or another ski weekend!

Owner's Response: Thanks for the feedback Scott, I appreciate it. The main boiler temp has been adjusted higher and plenty of heat is now flowing though out the space. Hope to see you again. DT

IT's ALL ABOUT LOCATION...

  • 5 of 5

Great 'in-town' location. Short 1 block walk to the Depot for dining (best Harbor Springs food) or the Harbor Bar for...a beer. For a short weekend...possible to 'park the car' & walk to everything.

Well laid out, clean & comfortable.

Does not get any easier than this.

Harbor Srings studio apartment on Main Street

  • 5 of 5

Main Street in Harbor Springs still represents the classic definition. Food, shopping, coffee shops, the library, etc. are all within a few blocks of this charming studio apartment on Main. In the morning, coffee and a couple of good bakeries are literally a two minute walks, for lunch the famous Guerney sandwiches a three minute walk, and an evening stroll around the corner puts you in New York for a great dinner. The apartment is everything you need in one expanse--it's modern but warm, with a comfortable bed, two great leather easy chairs, and a fully equipped kitchen. Best of all, there are two full walls of (privacy-covered)windows that remind you you're in the heart of downtown. I highly recommend this apartment for couples (not enough room for kids). It's literally within two minutes of everything you could want, and it's clean, tasteful, and affordable. We'll be back.
