Our family came for a wedding and had the bonus of staying here in the Trout House. This has been the most comfortable cabin we have stayed in and would love to return. Great location, relaxing setting, comfortable beds, well equipped for family meals - gas grill handy. Matt came from Bozman, MT and wants to come back to explore the island. Julie came from college in Florida for a rest from her engineering courses and a nice visit with cousins from all corners of the country. We came from the mountains of New Hampshire for a delightful sea-side family reunion and wedding. We highly recommend quiet walks to visit the sheep, llama and the local deer who happen by regularly. Portofino Pizza and browsing in town, hiking Moran State Park. Thanks!!Laughing Moon Farm
My wife and I and our 4 children moved to this property on Orcas Island from Seattle 15 years ago. After we finished our house we constructed the cabins. We love living here with our sheep and llama and the close island community. It is a great place to live and visit.
Orcas Island was chosen to build our dream home and to raise our family. We visited the San Juan Islands years before and fell in love with the peaceful Island living.
We live in nature. We are removed from the big city and can listen to the frogs and loons at night. Our resident bald eagle pair are fascinating to keep track of each year. They work on their nest starting in February and lay their eggs in March or April. Our farm animals are a lot of fun and it brings us great joy raising Cotswold rare breed sheep.
