Two bedrooms, one bath. An additional fold out couch in the living room. The house is well furnished inside with cozy warm queen sized beds. The comforters you will want to take home with you (please don't :-). You can see the entire southern end of the island from the front deck. A wonderful view.
The land is fairly new and is composed of aa as well as Pahoehoe flows.
Please refer to the pictures to get an idea of what the land looks like around here. The picture of they house, the driveway and the view from the front deck will give you an idea of the topography and vegetation around the house.
We have supplied pure water for drinking purposes in 3 gallon containers.
The town of Ocean View is just minutes away. Here you will find three markets, a hardware store, three gas stations, a post office, breakfast and lunch place, vet, laundromat. hair salon, bar and restaurant and more.
Ideally located between Kona and Hilo.

At 2800 ' elevation it can sometimes be cool at night so bring a sweater.
The moment I first came to Hawaii I knew I would build my home here. I love the house, the land, and all the things to do and see around the area. There is a primordial energy to the land which has always drawn me. Something about being out in the middle of the Pacific, thousands of miles from any other land mass is exciting. I love to hike the area and can be a valuable asset to you should you want to get around and see things. No shortage of things to do!
Other than that, I have a passion for couples dancing and singing. I have been a part of numerous dance performance teams. My favorites are west coast swing and nightclub two step. Most of the songs I sing are older ballads by Nat King Cole and Johnny Mathis.
Eric Germon purchased this house in 2008
When you see it you will know. It is new land trying to get started. It's memories are fresh.
Ideally located between Hilo and Kona. Closer to Kona. It's a big island. 100 miles or so across. More than you could ever see in a month. This is a quiet place. Absolutely silent often at night. Although neighbors are not abundant, there are a few and it is important to respect others at night as sound travels real far here. Great views of South Point. You can easily drive to South Point, Black Sands Beach, Ho'okena Beach Park, Whittington Beach Park, Manuka Forest Preserve and Kahuku Ranch Reserve. Great hike (car in if you want) to Green Sands Beach and Pahue Bay. Of course, there is Volcano National Park about an hour away.
We spent the 2nd half of our stay on the Big Island here. We had a great time and this place was awesome. Highly recommended of you are looking to get away from all the tourist.
For background, many of the sightseeing locations are spread out around the Big Island. This house is in a great location for exploring and enjoying the Southern portion of the island. It's about 1 hour from Kailua-Kona and about 1 hour from Volcano and perhaps 30 minutes to South Point.
As to the house, it is just as pictured. The 12 sided house is great with nice appointments, a comfortable interior and a very pleasant porch. The common area serves as the kitchen, dining and living space; the two bedrooms have large beds and good closet space and the bathroom had the essentials. The gravel driveway can be a little rugged, but in the grand scheme of things, that is pretty trivial. We did not spent a whole lot of time at the house, but while we were there it was very cozy and offered everything we needed. Also, the nearby local market area has a good set of services groceries, gas, etc. It's more than enough for a multi-day visit.
