Floc ferme is an old stone farmhouse with adjoining tastefully restored gites in an elevated position with wonderful views over the Pyrenees and surrounding villages. In a rural but not too remote area of beauty and tranquillity. Views from the front of the property and gardens include Mont d'Olme and Mont Fourcat. With our clear skies the nearby villages of Verniolle, Varilhes and Mirepoix look wonderful in the evening There is a spacious tiered garden to sit and enjoy the ever-changing scenery. The upper level tier has a stone built BBQ area with plenty of seating, walk down the railway sleeper steps to the next level and the pool area.

This self-contained gite for 2 - 4 people comprises of open-plan kitchen diner and lounge area. Upstairs there are two bedrooms, one double and a twin room also bathroom with shower. From the double bed there are wonderful views of the mountains, ideal for that first cup of coffee in the morning. This gite has been built in what was part of the old barn therefore with its thick walls is wonderfully cool in the summer. The upper level of the tiered garden has a stone built BBQ with ample seating, going down the railway sleeper steps to the lower tier and the pool area. All outdoor seating areas have great views of the every changing landscape.

You will find Floc ferme 1.5kms outside the village of Coussa, rural but not remote. Just 10 minutes from junction 7 of the main N20 Toulouse to Andorra route. Atmospheric French markets at Mirepoix, Foix and Pamiers . The historical chateau of Montesegur the symbol of Cathar resistance and Roquefixade, a must. The walled city of Carcassonne just 45 minutes away . Lombrives cave, the largest in Europe also Grotte de Niaux and Grotte du Mas d'Azil. Riviere souterraine de Labouiche, underground river cruise or spend a day at the Prehistoric Park. For lovers of the outdoors an abundance of walking and VTT cycling routes of varying difficulties, we are able to advise on routes. SKIING - resorts within 45 minutes, Ax 3 Domaines, a well kept french secret or continue onto Andorra for skiing and duty free. Mont d'Olme ski resort is viewed from the property.

We (family of four with 7 year old twin boys) had a lovely week at Floc in July. The weather was superb and the place is tranquil with fabulous views. The gite (Le Repos) was exactly as it is described. Robin and Susie are excellent hosts (there when you need them yet unobtrusive)

We spent a lot of time relaxing by the pool. We also went to Montbel (a large local lake), Carcassonne for the day, and Monsegur.

I would wholeheartedly recommend this property to anyone who wants a quiet family holiday (with a pool) with lots to do and see (as long as you have transport).
