APARTMENT LOCATED IN UNESCO AREA, IN FRONT OF PORT WINE 'CAVES'

A fabulous apartment with enchanting views right in the heart of old Porto.

This property is well maintained and Fernando is very attentive.

We can really recommend Fernando's apartment in the heart of old Porto to all those who enjoy exploring an old city, and indeed all those who enjoy lounging around just soaking up culture and atmosphere. We can also recommend Fernando who was an excellent host.
The apartment is well appointed and has really superb views over the Douro river and the Pont de Luis bridge (which at night is just lovely). It was well maintained with all the appliances that you could need. The apartment is close to restaurants along the Cais de Ribeira with the heart of Porto either a short climb away (or in our case a short Funiculer ride away!). Other supermarkets and shops are also within easy reach, as is the rest of Porto, either on one of the many tourist bus or tram tours or through the excellent local bus service. We found that most Porterians could understand enough english to know what we were trying to say!
We would also recommend taking trips from the nearby Sao Bento railway station to Braga (where the Church de Bom Jesus is fabulous), and the university town of Coimbre.
Fernando was a brilliant host, picking us up from the airport, showing us the apartment and pointing out local attractions. He also made sure there was a selection of wine and port available for our arrival as well as a tasty snack.
One small note of caution is that the apartment is on the 2nd floor and there are a number of steps to climb up to reach it - but I can promise that it is well worth the climb.

Fernando your welcome at Porto Airport and warm hospitality led us to stay five rather than three nights in Porto. Our New Years Eve was great, the apartment placed us in the center of activity. Some great restaurants were within casual walking distance and the key attractions were readily accessible. Fernando thank you once more for taking us to the station and then helping us with our baggage on our departure. We had two bad experiences with two other apartments on our trip that cost us substantially and we regret not having booked through Owners Direct in those cities. Fernando when we come back we will try your cottage in the Douro River Valley.
