Alba Villa Rental Photos and Description
Two bedroom Villa with spectacular views in secluded position.
Villa Palmina, named after my husband's paternal Nonna, was built in the late 70's. Complete with its own vineyard of Dolcetto grapes, it was a must to buy when we toured Piemonte in 2005, searching for a property to be near our son and his wife who were already living near Torino. Not the tumledown stone building I had hoped for, but far more practical, and very soon became so much the home of our dreams that we wanted to share it with everyone. Thus began our foray into the bed and breakfast business. The villa has changed since 2005 when we signed and exchanged contracts. Alas the vineyard is no more, after producing wine for four years and fulfilling one of our dreams, this year we decided to grow lavender on a large scale, already this summer the scent was heavenly and the bees were delighted.Another project was the building of a swimming pool for our grandchildren. When we purchased the villa there were poultry houses and five old hens, who sometimes would lay eggs for us. The huts were quickly demolished and now form part of a rose garden and pond.On the groundfloor ofthe villa there is a wonderful tavernetta furnished with Welsh farmhouse antiques, brought with us when we came to Italy, where we entertain family and friends . There is also a utility room where guests can use the washing machine and ironing facilities. The first floor has its own entrance to a spacious lounge with TV etc, open fireplace, leather suite and chairs with ample comfortable seating.Double doors lead onto the terrace. Off the lounge is a corridor leading to the bathroom, complete with shower, washbasin and bidet.. Then there are two double bedrooms, fully furnished, one with doors onto the terrace, looking towards the mountains and the other with window onto the private gardens. All doors and window are fitted with fly screens.Off the corridor is also a door leading to a spiral staircase which takes one to a third large room, although not used as a bedroom this provides a wonderful play area during winter months or occasional wet spring time days.We have two family dogs and two cats, so anyone wishing to bring there pets would be more than welcome. The property is completely secured by fences. Children are also more than welcome and well catered for with various outdoor activities.

Retirement in Piedmonte, after many years in catering , was meant to be idyllic, but we missed the contact with people and pampering to their needs. Hence, was born the idea of ‘Villa Palmina’ as a bed & breakfast. What pleasure it is giving us….using our expert knowledge of the area and my husband’s many years experience working in top class hotels and restaurants in Europe, it has been an all round success for ourselves and guests who visit us from all over the world.
The property was built in the late 1970s, and has all modern conveniences expected in the 21st century. The grounds are totally secure and have spectacular views over the Langhe Hills to the Alps and Monte Rosa towards Turin and south to the Alpi Marittime. Quiet and secluded but within easy access of shops, restaurants , wine bars, ice cream parlours and chocolate shop. Close to the sea and cities of Turin and Genoa it’s easy to have a very varied holiday for those not content to just visit local vineyards and sample their wines.
The very special grounds and lavender field offer various nooks and cranies to hide away and read, relax , listen to music or just admire the views. For guests with children there is the security of knowing they are in a safe place with adventure playground and hosts who have time to welcome them. Likewise guests arriving with dogs will also be more than welcome.
