David and Connie are native Minnesotans who recently moved back home to Saint Paul to be close to family. We have been renting vacation properties for many years and decided when we bought this duplex in one of St. Paul's most charming neighborhoods that we wanted to manage the second unit as a vacation rental. You will love the family atmosphere and close walking proximity to almost everything you need. Don't expect much interaction from us unless you need it, because we want your home-away-from-home experience to be just the way you want it!
We love Saint Paul, and we've always found it the more historic and charming twin of the Twin Cities. Tangletown is one of the few neighborhoods in Saint Paul where you won't find a 'grid' of streets. Instead, gently curving streets lined with beautiful family homes and gardens give this area a unique and walking-friendly feeling. Come and share our enjoyment of this lovely neighborhood during your next trip to the Twin Cities!
We stayed for a weekend for a family wedding. The apartment was very tastefully decorated, immaculate and very bright. It is situated on a corner in a quiet residential area, but close to shopping and restaurants in St. Paul.
It was great to have two full baths with five people. The home is very spacious and comfortable. We hope to be back soon !
Six of us stayed for a wedding. Very spacious, clean, quiet and comfortable. 2 nice bathrooms and 3 bedrooms with excellent beds and plenty of space. Dining room with nice table. The ironing board was a nice touch. Lots of lounging space. Great location by 2 coffee shops and Whole foods. Highly recommended.
We had Women's Weekend at this location last weekend with Grandma, three sisters and three nieces. It was wonderful. So much better than a hotel. Very clean and cozy. Great lighting. Great location - we went to Minnehaha Falls, show in Minneapolis and dinner in St. Paul. Added the "boys" on Saturday evening activity for birthday celebration and it was perfect. Had one minor issue and it was corrected within two hours. Strongly recommend.
Beautiful home, great location. I have rented a number homes through Home Away and this ranks with the best. Will recommend to family and friends.
Our family stayed the weekend in this spacious upper duplex. We were all very comfortable in this beautiful, safe neighborhood. Very close to great shopping. The beds were awesome, best bedding ever. We loved the treat basket and wine that welcomed us. We will definitely try to get this Treetop Treasure if we ever need it again in St. Paul.
Our family had such a fabulous time at The Tangletown Treetop House. Our 18 month old sat with grandmother and looked down at the houses below and they ooood and aaaaaahd at the sites. You have to understand we are from Northern Minnesota where it is very quiet. The neighborhood was beautiful and also quiet but for a country boy it has great people watching. The furnishings were fantastic. The large living room fit our entire family (15 adults 4 children) who gathered on Sat. night for our parent's 65th wedding anniversary. Our hosts were fantastic to communicate with. They were not there the weekend we stayed but it was all arranged for very easily. We wish we could have met them. I highly recommend this fabulous place.
In the St. Paul neighborhood of Macalester Groveland, or Mac Groveland as it's commonly called, residents are just a few minutes' drive from downtown St. Paul, making the neighborhood a close, convenient alternative to downtown living. This community-oriented neighborhood is home to families, college professors, students, working professionals and retirees.
In part, the varied population is due to the rich educational environment of Mac Groveland. Both Macalester College and the University of St. Thomas – St. Paul campus are located in the neighborhood, as well as the St. Paul Seminary. St. Catherine University is also nearby.
Mac Groveland is bordered by the historic, mansion-lined Summit Avenue to the north, and by Randolph Ave and Highland Park to the south. In addition to the Minnesota governor's mansion, you'll also find more houses of worship on Summit Avenue than any other single street in the country. Mac Groveland's western border is not a street, but rather the Mississippi National River and Recreation Area, a public park with extensive walking and biking paths overlooking the majestic Mississippi River.
Grand Avenue runs east to west through the heart of the neighborhood and boasts a number of popular coffee shops, bakeries, ice cream shops and specialty boutiques. There are several other local businesses in the area as well as restaurants to suit every taste, including the St. Clair Broiler, Scusi, Groveland Tap and Carmelo's. Mac Groveland residents (and those from surrounding St. Paul neighborhoods) descend upon Grand Avenue every June for Grand Old Day, which includes a parade and celebration as part of the largest one-day festival in the region.
Mac Groveland offers the best features of the suburbs within city limits, with spacious lawns and park space. Mattocks Park offers over three and a half acres of fun, including an ice rink and tennis courts, and is a favorite for young families. In addition, the neighborhood has two recreation centers operated by the City of St. Paul Parks and Recreation Department.
