Our apartment is in the centre of the village, a bit older but a friendly place to stay! Separate kitchen and en-suite bedroom(s) and a seperate living room to relax or watch television.(cable) The balcony has an amazing view and faces directly to the 'Staubbach Falls' and in front there is a garden were you can sit and watch the base-jumpers packing their gear! The apartment is well suitable for a large family 6/8 Persons. Within 5 minutes walk you are in the centre of the village where there is a supermarket, local butcher a milk and cheese shop and a bakery. Along the road there are many good restaurants who serve traditional Swiss food, together with a variety of European dishes. The apartment is just 7 walking minutes from the train station to the Jungfrau Region (Wengen and Jungfraujoch)and the bus stop nearby that brings you to the cable car with access to Mürren and Schilthorn. We have Hotspot Wireless Internet for free! You'll like it here.. that's for sure!!

The winter sport pass gives you unlimited travel in the whole area and for non-skiers there are reduced passes to get up into the mountains! Amazing views of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau makes your winter(sport) holiday as one you will never forget!! The apartment is just 7 walking minutes from the train station up to the ski areas. I was lucky to have my birthday while staying here. Angie, who seems to run the Hotel and bar, had birthday deaorations and Chamogn waiting outside my door the morning of my birthday. That evening my family had a birthday party (all nine of them) in the bar. Once again, Angie and her staff were ther to make the party most enjoyable. The hotel is rustic, clean, well located at the start of the valley, but it's best feature is the world class staff. Enjoy!.

Paradise Found!

Lauterbrunnen, Switzerland is truly paradise. Surrounded by waterfalls, cliffs and staggering mountains, it is hard to go wrong. The property itself was very quaint and made us feel a part of the surrounding beauty. The balconies look out onto the most magnificent scenery and each window was facing another spectacular view. Although slightly dated in its decor, the apartment was spotless and very well equipped. Since we were on the top floor, the ceilings were a bit cramped in some of the rooms. The beds were also very comfortable. The owner did provide good customer service and was easily accessible at the pub across the street.

Our family of 6 particularly enjoyed taking the nearby gondolas and hiking trail up to Shilthorn mountain, as well as visiting Trummelbach Falls. The nearby tourist information office was very helpful in planning our trip. Also, the local restaurants (all within walking distance) were wonderful. We arrived in Lauterbrunnen by train and used the local transportation extensively. No car is needed.

Great Experience at the Horner Apartment

My family and I (which was a total of 7 people - 4 adults and 3 children) spent 6 nights in one of the Horner apartments and we had a great time. We stayed in the 3 bedroom apartment on the top floor and we were more than comfortable. The layout was perfect, especially for our 1 year old son because most rooms had doors on them so he could walk around and we didn't have to worry much at all. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes/pots/pans/coffee pot/etc. They supplied us with as many towels as we neded. The apartment was exceptionally clean and well maintained. The staff was beyond terrific. They made you feel at home right away, learning all of our names by the 2nd day we were there! I would definitely recommend this property to my friends and family...without a doubt! We are already thinking about going back there on our next vacation. The apartment was in a great location...making it easy to walk to any shop/store in town. There aren't enough good things to stay about the Horner Apartment Rentals.

Lauterbrunnen huge apartment with balcony

We went there in winter. The location is good , very near the train station to go to wengen, murren , the jungfra region and Grinderwald, where the ski piste is. Suprisingly there are also co-operative nearby for you to buy your groceries. I like the huge place, the kitchen and the heater which is very warm during winter.
The living room is very big , we went with 2 adults and 2 children but it is one of the most reasonable price apartment. I thought it was cheap compared to other apartments.
The only set back is that the heated water in the bathroom is ration, so if somebody else have used the warm water you don't have any warm water left. so no soaking of warm water in the bath tub. and also if you don't mind having the sound of the bell of the lauterbrunnen ringing every 15 mins.

good place to stay for large group

We had 9 people (3 kids included) in our group, and this was the only flat big enough for us that I could find. It isn't huge, but was perfect for our needs. Although some of the furniture and the house was a little old, everything was very clean. All beds were reasonably comfortable except for the sofabed in the living room, which felt more like a soft rock. If you only have seven or even eight people in your party, you won't need it anyway. To whom it concerns (b/c of teens and kids), there is a painting of a naked woman above the bed in the main bedroom, which I guess you could take down if you didn't want it there. The location is unbeatable and very near the big falls, which you can admire from the private balcony. Walk out the door and turn left and you find nature, waterfalls, big mountains, little farm animals, etc. Walk out the door and turn right, and you are on the main street of the village with restaurants, tourist info, etc. Great location. The owners are very friendly and helpful and are at the pub across the street. While you're sipping coffee on the balcony, you can chat with the base jumpers and skydivers packing their chutes on the lawn below you, a place reserved for the Horner Hotel and apartment guests.
It is an older place, but clean.
