Superb triplex apartment completely renovated in a village house in the heart of Apt, comfortable lounge with American kitchen, bedroom with double bed, 2 mezzanines with 3 single beds and 1 cot and panaromique terrace. House fully secured with a bicycle garage on the ground floor. WIFI access and all modern equipment. From the terrace, one overlooking the small town of Apt and enjoys wonderful views across the Luberon and the village of Saignon.

As the capital of Luberon, Apt is located in the middle of the mountain as charming and picturesque hilltop villages all the ones than the others, some of them being classified among the most beautiful villages in France. Luberon is crossed by footpaths and minor roads, a paradise for hikers, bikers but also lovers of beautiful stones, historical monuments and Roman remains.

In addition, located in the Provence of the Popes, apartment enjoys an ideal climate since it is the only town in Provence, which takes advantage of the sunshine in the region .... without suffering from capricious Mistral. Indeed, located in a corner of the Blessed Ventoux, Apt undergoes the benefits of mistral chases the clouds, but never felt the icy bites. A Paradise, I assure you!

Good Base for Exploring

We stayed here - two couples - for a week in September 2014 and enjoyed our stay.

The town of Apt is a good base for exploring the villages of the Provence / Luberon area including Roussillon, Gordes, Menerbes and Bonnieux and is only about an hour from the autoroutes and Avignon.

The town has all the standard amenities - shopping, restaurants and markets. It is an old town so most of the streets are not suitable for vehicles. For drivers, park beside the river adjacent to the D900 or the market square to the east of town. Note the warnings for flooding during heavy rain or cars being towed for the market so that there are no surprises.

The apartment is located in the center of Apt, a block away from Ste Anne's Cathedral, about five minutes away from the parking areas, and consists of the upper floors in an old building.

It is quite difficult to imagine the layout from the photographs so this may help. The apartment is accessed by a narrow staircase and the main level is about fifty stairs from the street level. The main level contains the kitchen and living area, one bedroom and loft, toilet and shower / laundry room.

The kitchen is well equipped with all the modern conveniences and a table and chairs for dining. The living area is small with few chairs but has TV and Wi-Fi connections. The TV sound did not work while we were there but that was not an issue for us since we were not watching any TV. The Wi-Fi connection was reliable and we used it with an Ipad for email etc.

On the same level is the first bedroom with a double bed. This also is the access to a small loft with a small bed. This would be suitable for a couple with a young child.

The toilet is a separate WC, and the shower and laundry facilities share the same room.

On the next upper level (another dozen or so stairs) is a loft which overlooks the kitchen / living area. This has twin beds and a low beam. You will at some time (guaranteed) bang your head on the beam.

On the next upper level is an enclosed rooftop loft (another ten or so steps) with a table and a few chairs and a pleasant view over the rooftops of Apt.

The apartment was clean and many basic items were provided - salt and pepper, dish soap, garbage bags, laundry detergent - and stores were within walking distance.

The apartment is well run and the owner is flexible and personable and available if you have any questions or need assistance. We would recommend this property to others.

App. bien situé pour visiter la région. Il est bien équipé, grand et aéré. Après une journée à découvrir des lieux magnifiques et remplis d'histoire, revenir à l'app. était agréable et reposant. Nous y retournerions.

Location exceptionnelle et très bien conçue avec grand confort, équipement parfait, et décoration soignée, en plein centre ville historique, avec tous les commerces à proximité. Propreté irréprochable. Propriétaire très sympathique.

Bel appartement mais sale à notre arrivée !!!

Quelle ne fût pas notre étonnement lorsque nous sommes arrivés !!

Nous avons trouvé l'appartement dans un état de saleté inadmissible :

- moutons de poussière dans les placards et sous les lits

- appareils ménagers et vaisselle sales (moisissure dans l'essoreuse à salade, restes de nourriture dans le four, éclaboussures dans le micro-onde, bouilloire avec des tâches de sauce ...) ;

- miroirs et vitres de douche remplit de traces, d'éclaboussures et de tâches ;

- les sols tachés et plein de poussière dans les coins ;

- dessus de lits tachés ;

- lave linge et sèche linge remplit de trace noire et de poussière ;

Bref nous avons du faire du nettoyage jusqu'à 21 h le jour de notre arrivée pour pouvoir nous installer correctement !!!

Dommage car à part ça c'est un bel appartement situé dans un petit immeuble sympathique en plein cœur du centre ville de Apt.

Au final séjour agréable quand même ... juste cette petite surprise désagréable à l'arrivée.

Owner's Response: Mes locataires ont été informés des raisons du mauvais entretien ponctuel de mon appartement et des mesures qui ont été prises immédiatement pour y remédier. Depuis, la femme de ménage a changé, l'appartement a été revu complètement... et de plus une semaine à moitié tarif a été offerte aux locataires. Je peux donc assurer que mon appartement est toujours normalement très propre et qu'il est maintenant entre les mains d'une femme de ménage responsable et soigneuse. J'aimerais quand même que ces locataires émettent une nouvelle appréciation après leur second séjour pour annuler cette impression désagréable. Monique

Luberon, Apt benefits both the benefits of the countryside, with beautiful villages that the proximity to the Mediterranean Sea and the Alps. Provençal climate is ideal for all seasons. Distractions are many with the pleasures of the mountain (hiking and biking all year and skiing in winter) and swimming in the sea.

Golf: Several beautiful golf courses nearby: Saumane near Isle sur la Sorgue is the closest.

Ski: You can ski on the Ventoux if snow conditions. If the slopes of the Southern Alps, still snowy and sunny are 1:30 Apt.
