This apartment is only a stone's throw from the cathedral of Florence. It is incredible, but true: to reach the Duomo, the very heart of the old town of Florence, it is just a one minute walk, to be exact only 100 m! Steps of the silver-greyish Pietra-Serena stone bring you up to the flat on the second floor. Upon entering you will see an open space living room right in front of you. The room is very high and has a beautiful ancient wooden ceiling. There are two very high windows - the room is filled with light. As you open the windows, the palazzi of the opposite side of the road are in front of you. Leaning out of the window and looking to your right you will see a small part of the grand red cupola of the Duomo with its white lantern on top of it. It is incredible, but true: to reach the Duomo, the very heart of the old town of Florence, it is just a one minute walk, to be exact only 100 m! A few meters from the house there is a bus stop - coming from the railway station the bus brings you directly opposite the house. On the opposite side of the road there is a café and restaurant. In one minute you can reach the famous museum of Bargello, and you only need five minutes to reach the beautiful Piazza Signoria and the Uffizi Gallery.

  • In a corner of the living room a door opens to the bathroom area. A sort of tunnel (48 cm wide, 1.75 m high and approx. 3 m long) leads to the bathroom (no window, ventilator). On the left side of the tunnel path there is a surface where you will find two large boxes containing bath towels. Then you reach a small room with washbasin. Behind a curtain there is the shower area with a toilet and shower right next to it. Please note that the shower does not have a shower base (a typically inventive Italian solution for small bathrooms where there is simply not enough space to place a shower tray). Water will drain off in the bathroom and dry quickly; it will not exit towards the living room, as there is a step before the tunnel path starts.

  • A wooden staircase (9 steps) leads to the raised gallery. Here you will find a wooden chest and a double bed (1.40 m wide). The gallery measures 10 sqm and is 1.75 m high, but be careful, where there is the ancient wood truss it is a bit lower. An armchair which can be transformed into a single bed is available on special request. It is suitable if you want to sleep in separate beds (one in the double bed on the gallery, the other in the single bed placed in the living room), or if you are travelling with three people. In both cases a separate charge is made for the extra bed, and it must be ordered when booking.

Entering the apartment you find yourself immediately in the living room. In the living room there is a sofa next to a window, a wooden armoire for clothes, a wooden dining table to seat three people and a wooden corner cupboard for the crockery. A modern armoire in front of the dining table hides the kitchen corner with two electric hot plates, sink and fridge. The small kitchenette is not big enough to prepare generous meals with several courses, but sufficient for breakfast or a light meal. As there is not much furniture and as the ceiling is very high, the atmosphere of the room is spacious and airy. The draperies have fresh colours - white, yellow and orange. Grey carpeting covers the floor of the 30 sqm room.
