Larriberau, our Napoleonic farmhouse, is situated in its own land with majestic 400 year old oaks providing natural shade, private 12m x 6m pool and stunning views in every direction. The house has been lovingly restored , retaining all its French charm and romanticism, beams and large fireplaces, whilst, at the same time, providing all modern comforts. The house sleeps 8 plus babies. Larriberau is in the department of the Gers, in the old region of Gascony., South West France. Auch, the capital of this area is 20 minutes away, the Pyrenees one hour. Larriberau is situated on an escarpment with magnificent views in every direction. The Pyrenees-just 50 miles away, are a tantalisingly beautiful sight.Surrounded by tranquil rolling countryside, the village is 4 kilometres away, with alimentation and excellent restaurant. Bakery at 5 minutes.2 market towns 12 minutes. Great food, excellent wine.

Larriberau is situated amidst magical rolling countryside with far reaching views and sunflowers! and at the very heart of the Gers in Gascony. The house sits on an escarpment with magnificent views on all sides, outside a small hamlet of three houses.To the South, on a clear day, the Pyrenees-just 50 miles away-are a tantalisingly beautiful sight. The views are truly spectacular,and the sunsets romantic. Amidst such restful country, there's wildlife of all descriptions. But despite the peace, it is not remote. This is the France we all dream of. Peace, quiet roads, the sound of silence. And then good food, and a glass of wine. The excellent vineyards of Madiran and Buzet are not far away, and there is always a good restaurant within easy reach!

  • 2 cots, 2 high chairs. All bedrooms have good comfortable beds, cupboards and each bedroom has a fan for those hot summer nights. There are three bedrooms in the main part of the house, as you look at the picture. Two doubles, including the four poster room , and a single. All these are ensuite. All rooms have views. In the Wing, there is 'the Hayloft Bedroom' with three single beds. (A downstairs double bedded room with southerly views towards the Pyrenees can be made available for those who find stairs difficult).Also another bathroom, a double bedded room, and a bedroom with 2 singles. There is a shower room and separate cloakroom.

Round and About.: There is plenty to see and do locally. Auch, a lovely old city and the capital of Gascony, is a mere twenty minutes away, and is reputedly the home of the Three Musketeers. All around are beautiful Bastides including Bassouses, Larresengle. and Fources. Nearby at Seissan and Marciac are activity lakes. At Vic Fezensac you will find bull fighting. Thermal baths at Lectoure and Castera Verduzan. At Lectoure can be found Bleu de Lectoure who have re-started the art of dyeing with blue pastel. Village fetes can be found most weekends, and a world renowned jazz festival at Marciac in August. The Pyrenees, 50 miles away, offer all outdoor pursuits, such as paragliding, rafting canoing. salmon fishing Several golf courses nearby.

Other Information: Toulouse and Pau airports are 90 minutes equidistant from the house. Please contact the owner if you would like any travel hints. Full information booklet on local activities and restaurants.

Golf: South West France, with its undulating countryside is well endowed with golf courses. Golf d'Embats is the excellent 18 hole golf course at Auch, the Capital of Gascony, and is a short distance away from Larriberau. Green fees average 35 Euros. There is also a very good retsaurant. The Golf de Pallane, now an 18 hole course, is built around the grounds of the Chateau at Tillac. Again, you will find an excellent restaurant. Less demanding are the smaller 9 hole courses at Masseube and Lannemezan. All these courses are within a short distance of Larriberau. There is plenty of variety and the courses tend not to be crowded. Further afield there is an excellent course at Eauze, Golf de Guinlet, and a further course near Toulouse. 'It was so lovely we scrapped many of our planned visits and just relaxed around the house and pool' Mrs S. Lincolnshire. ' A wonderful week. The boys have enjoyed the pool and all the games equipment. We have enjoyed the peace and quiet'. Mrs S. Oxfordshire.' Wonderful villa- with plenty of room for 8 of us. There was lots to amuse us- with the bookshelves of books, cupboards full of games, the games room (with table tennis and table football), swimming pool and the incredible countryside all around us. Amazing to each have our own bathroom. The decor is wonderful- with loads of homely touches, making you feel instantly relaxed. Near to local towns with weekly markets which was wonderful to do our food shopping at and then come home to barbecued french feasts. Views are incredible with snow capped pyrennes in the distance. Lovely place for relaxing, exploring, walking, shopping and spending time in a luxurious, clean house. Perfect for a group holiday.
