Perfect holiday

We stayed in Green Apple Cottage (our third visit in three years) for a fortnight in July 2009. The cottage is the perfect location for a family holiday: quiet, peaceful and with a wide range of activities available for children. Our daughter loves animals, and spent all her waking time stroking rabbits, riding donkeys and scouring the chickens for fresh-laid eggs for breakfast. The cottage also has an extensive indoor games facility, 24-hour broadband internet access and television (with all UK channels), as well as being fully-equipped with fridge/freezer, regular cooker, microwave and hob.
The property is immaculately clean and beautifully presented. No maintenance was necessary, but if anything does arise, the hosts are on hand at any time to help and advise. Customer service is as hands-on and as obliging as you could possibly wish for - the owners are around for anything you might need. Over the years they have provided transport to shops, allowed Elizabeth to 'help' looking after the animals, arranged riding lessons at a local stables, and generally been on hand with beer and advice - nothing is too much trouble.
The property is well-situated for access to cities (Bruges, Ghent), quaint smaller towns (Damme, Sluis) and coastal resorts like Blankenburg and Knokke-Heiste. There are city-centre attractions, beautiful beaches and child-friendly theme-parks, all within 30 minutes' drive. The Netherlands can be reached in 20-30 minutes if you fancy a change of scene. Food is good, with plenty of restaurants vying for your attention, seafood, chips, beer and chocolate being the most common attractions.
We would recommend this property without hesitation - for a family holiday you would struggle to find anything better. We have had a fantastic time three years running, and I'm sure we will be back again soon.
