The apartment is in a medieval house, centrally located in the historical centre of Lagrasse. The house, built up within the old city walls, is bordered by a river flowing at its feet and faces the market square, which dates back to the XII century. The apartment is located on the second floor of the completely restored house and offers a stunning view over the abbey, the river and hills to the West and over the market square and the mountains to the East. The whole surface is vast (120 m2), a large staircase divides it into two parts: the living area -kitchen, living room, lounge, bathroom- on the right; the other part is done up as a living/bedroom and a mezzanine. Attention was paid to the details of this charming house, whose antique side is accentuated by a rustic style. The house has a serene atmosphere since it was especially designed to offer peace and quiet to the guests, who will be happy to discover the region and its architectural heritage.

Location: Aude < Languedoc-Roussillon < France

Lagrasse lies in the Corbieres mountain region,between Narbonne and Carcassonne, 20 km from Lézignan and the A61 motorway. The access is easy thanks to Salvaza airport. The house location is very nice, the village being close to the sea and the Pyrenees, at the crossroad of several regions. You are here in the land of Cathars with its tragic history: the numerous castles and abbeys can be visited. The numerous vaults, whose local wines are delicious, can also be visited. Nature lovers will quickly fall in love with the hills, both wild and various, where mostly vine and olive trees grow. They will have the possibility to go horseback riding, or to play tennis in the village and will not forget to have a swim in the designed area at the feet of the abbey dungeon, to refresh themselves during the warmest hours of the day. Finally, book lovers can take part in the literary events of the BANQUET DU LIVRE (book banquet), which takes place every year in the abbey.

  • On the abbey's side, the large mansard room (50 m?) is a living room, done up as a loft, a living corner, a dining corner and a bedroom corner offering a stunning view over the abbey. The other room, even larger (70 m?), faces the old market square and the hills surrounding the village. Half-timbering of the XIV century is still present here, which gives the village a very special charm. At the entrance you will find two 90 cm large beds and a bit further a small lounge. This room also contains the access to the mezzanine (16 m?) via a open staircase. It is done up as a bedroom, with a 140 cm large bed. The whole is furnished in a country manner, in perfect harmony with the style of this old house.
