Our large one bedroom apartment is your comfortable home away from home:
The bedroom features a Queen sized bed with quality linens, a free-standing armoire for storing clothing and shoes, and lots of bookcases filled with great hardback and paperback books.
The living room has a couch and love seat, a 50 inch plasma TV, a brick fireplace, and a glass-topped table and two chairs for dining. There is also a handmade desk if you need to spread out and get work done, as well as reliable, high-speed wifi.
The kitchenette shares space with the living room and has a refrigerator, stove/oven, sink, microwave, toaster, coffeemaker, and cupboards filled with pantry items. There is also a kitchen island which holds cookware and two barstool chairs.
The bathroom is small but functions well. It has a glass-walled shower with a bench seat, and heated floor tiles. Plenty of towels are provided.
Next to the bathroom is the private laundry room which has an efficient stacked washer/dryer.
French doors in the living room lead to our backyard. The garden is filled with California native plants and flowers which can be enjoyed either from the upper deck, or from the sunken seating area complete with four chairs and fire pit table.
The apartment is on the ground level of our house and has its own separate and private entrance. Our neighborhood is wonderfully quiet and safe.
We are 10 minutes by car from downtown Redwood City. You can hop aboard a train at the Caltrain station downtown and travel from San Francisco to San Jose.
I was born in San Francisco and raised in the Bay Area, where I in turn have raised my family. My husband Mark and I have two college aged sons and as recent empty nesters we've decided to keep the good energy flowing through our home by welcoming travelers here. By day I'm an office manager at a local company, and by night I design jewelry in my home-based studio. I love reading second hand books purchased from my local library, working in my lizard-filled garden, and am an avid movie goer. I also volunteer monthly at the Allied Arts Guild in Menlo Park which fundraises for the Lucille Packard Childrens Hospital at Stanford. Mark loves baseball (Go Giants!) and volunteers his time as a manager/coach to high school level teams, as he also serves on the local Little League board.

Just wanted to wish you and Mark a very Happy New Year and elaborate on our wonderful stay. I wanted to thank you for some of the little things. Nicky loved the mattress and the sheets were so comfortable. Thank you for leaving the odds and ends in the refrigerator; they were very useful and saved us from over buying. I also enjoyed the candy before I start my new year's diet! :-) You have created a very nice home away from home. Thank you.
My three sisters and I stayed here during a recent visit to SF - they owners were very accommodating for the four of us and simply wonderful to deal with. The place was beautiful and very large and much better than a hotel room!
Several friends and I stayed at this apartment for our Stanford reunion. It was very clean, comfortable and had all the amenities we could possibly need, including wifi, big TV, etc. The owners were extremely thoughtful and helpful. The photos and description were all accurate. The only downside was the comfort of the pullout couch bed (they're always uncomfortable), but the owner was maybe going to figure out what she could do there with a pad or something. You had to follow some winding roads up a hill to get there, so it's not on the main thoroughfare, but it wasn't far out of the way and that meant it was very peaceful and quiet. Beautiful backyard. I would definitely stay here again!
Had a business trip to Redwood City to see a client and all the hotels were sold out so I found this gem on VRBO. Large clean place, comfortable queen bed, new bath/shower, kitchenette, living area with big TV and comfy leather sofas (though I do NOT recommend the sofa bed), and Wi-Fi. It was so much better than a hotel room. Ten minutes to Whole Foods so it was nice to prepare coffee and dinner.
Staying somewhere away from home for 30 days is difficult. The hosts and their apartment made us feel like this was as close to being home as we could imagine. The bed was very nice, bathroom comfortable, and kitchen facilities were really complete. We would stay again.
Very private, rural feel. Minutes from freeways & surrounding cities. Comfortable bed, amenities including HDTV, DVD/CD player. W&D, small, but well stocked kitchen. Owners included bottled water, condiments, coffee, fresh flowers, a dog bone for our puppy, candy, milk, OJ, popcorn, toothbrushes, shampoo, shaving cream, & many thoughtful additions. Both Mark & Christina were friendly, considerate, helpful, accommodating, and flexible. My wife, puppy, and I enjoyed our stay & highly recommend this home which was instrumental in making our trip a success!
