This villa has been bought and restored in 2005. It used to be a shelter for animals, now it is a gorgeous shelter for exclusive vacationers ! I have supervised the restoration project, and now manage the property on behalf of the owners, Joan and Bram, that live in Holland, and come when they can. When they are not in Italy, this house is available to guests like you.

Mario Santoro purchased this villa in 2005

This villa is just perfect, fully equipped and always in perfect conditions of maintenance. it is silent, away from the road - but not remote - and a fabulous starting point for walks in the surrounding woods. The pool is big, beautiful, and with a smaller section for just having drinks and enjoy the sunshine. You won't find anything better, I promise !

There is an amazing concierge service that will look after you, in a discreet but efficient manner, great quality of linen and towels, and the fabulous Umbrian weather !

Dear Mario, just a little note to thank you for the fantastic time we had at Campo Rinaldo spending our wedding-anniversary at your place.
Until now I thought our wedding was one of the best days in my life but this anniversary I must confess surpassed it by far.
What shall I say? Was it because you and you're staff made us feel at home with all the luxury of a first-class hotel and the food that was so delicious and Italian and was cooked in front of our eyes so we can try to redo it back home? Or was it because of this brilliant idea of having a wonderful Villa for ourselves (us, the children and their partners) and these two very beautiful, very comfortable and well-decorated villas with stupendous views nearby for our friends. Thank you. Mara from Holland

PERFECT IN EVERY WAY...

  • 5 of 5
When you drive around the last corner towards Campo-Rinaldo you instantly know it's going to be a great vacation! 360 degree views from both inside and outside the villa make this home ideal. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything we needed - and we love to cook and cook often. The pool is pristine and very private. The design and flow of the entire house and property is soothing as well as practical and the proximity to local stores and restaurants is perfect. The entire staff is very easy to reach and their response time is impeccable. Mario coordinates your every request and anticipates your needs like the perfect host. CR is like a second home and we will be back!

NICE LOCATION

  • 5 of 5
We stayed for two weeks in Campino Rinaldo and had a great time. We were two familys with 5 children and had even then enough space in this huge house.
We were in April there so it was still a little bit cold and we had to pay the heating extra (which was indicated before). This is the perfect location for familys to calm down.

BEAUTIFUL VILLA IN THE HILLS

  • 5 of 5
Campo Rinaldo is a truly special place, even more than the photographs suggest. The house itself is beautiful, spacious, and nicely appointed, with a nice kitchen well stocked with pots and pans. We were 5 adults and a toddler, at at no time did the house feel crowded or cramped. The position of the villa on the hills is truly stunning, as is the garden and the pool. It is hidden in the back roads of the Umbrian countryside, but yet within 14 kms of Todi and less than an hour's drive from an endless list of gorgeous small Umbrian towns, from Bevagna to Montefalco, Spello, Spoleto etc. it is an ideal place to "disconnect" and explore this beautiful part of Italy, unspoilt, hospitable, and offering first rate food and wine.

The property was clean and well-maintained, descriptions and instructions on how to get there were accurate, and our "concierge" Sabrina was nice and friendly. You can easily stock up on food in small towns nearby, or eat out in Todi or some other place (material in the house provides helpful suggestions). You can also shop for beautiful Umbrian ceramics in Deruta or for clothes in numerous nearby fashion outlets. And go for a visit to wineries close to Montefalco! We really hope to come back to Campo Rinaldo, and I would strongly recommend it, whether for groups of adults or couples with children. Our little one liked the dipping pool, which is a nice feature for small children

VILLA PIANESANTE - TODI CASTLE

  • 5 of 5
Stayed in Villa Pianesante with 7 friends and couldn't have had a better time. Great views, awesome grounds, great staff and a ridiculous amount of space in the villa.

Mario helped us set up a few wine tours as well as a fantastic dinner in nearby Acqualoreto. He couldn't have been more accommodating!

Highly recommended place if you're into, you know, having an AWESOME time in Umbria.

THE ABSOLUTE BEST ITALIAN VACATION. PERIOD.

  • 5 of 5
So you are thinking about booking a trip to Italy and you have no idea where to start? Do you take on the city life of Rome, absorb the art and history of Florence, or taste the pizza in Napoli? Forget all of that and book your stay in Todi and experience true beauty, serenity, and happiness with the Santoro family planning your experience.

My older sister booked a trip for 4 of us: her, my parents, and my wife and me. We stayed in Villa Pianesante which had more bedrooms than I could count. We were greeted with a freshly stocked fridge, lasagna, sausage, and the best bread I have ever had. The house had wireless internet access for those of you who still want to stay somewhat connected to the world and news events. In the back was a luxurious pool and lounge chairs. There was even a large outdoor grill area; perfect for group functions or large family gatherings. The villa sat high atop the property and looked over the gorgeous Italian countryside (Definitely make sure you rent a 4-wheel drive car to travel around the hilly region). We could hear churchbells in the distance and lazily spent several days relaxing by the pool and gazing out onto a picturesque view of small villages.

The owner of Todi Castle is amazing and his son, Mario, is the best host ever. He is such a cool guy, he knows everyone in town, and he organizes excellent daily tours. We started the trip by going to the town carnival on our first night and ate and drank like royalty. We also watched a local dairy farmer make homemade mozzerella and then sampled his cheeses with a wine and antipasti meal al fresco. Other days we traveled to several wineries and a family-owned company that won the most recent award for best olive oil in the nation! So much fun. The best events were held at the main house at Todi Castle where Mario and his staff (Sabrina is amazing!) cooked for us. The wine and the food was absolutely delicious.

We took a day trip to Rome and spent an evening having dinner and wandering the streets of Todi (very cool little city). My favorite part was just driving around, getting lost and bumping into friendly people in the small Italian villages nearby. On our last day we went to one restaurant where the owner welcomed us in and brought us just an absolutely incredible array of food and made sure we were well fed and full on wine.

As you can tell...we like food!

Notes:
The area of Todi is famous for its natural beauty. The landscape is beautiful with many routes and destinations reachable by foot or bike. Umbria is famous for its excellent produce and there are excellent gourmet restaurants in the area. We will be happy to describe and recommend the best ones. We have an outstanding cook at Villa Campo Rinaldo. Under request, he prepares excellent lunches or dinners for the guests. He also makes cooking demonstrations, wine tasting sessions, and cooking classes. The cook will personally discuss the menu with guests. Most of the ingredients used come from farms in the area (oil, eggs, vegetables, fruit, and wine). All ingredients are 'organic'. Available: massage, baby sitting, guided tours, wine tastings, and car with driver, etc.
