Places to Visit / Things to Do:
- Numerous Chateaux of the Loire including Saumur, Chinon, Villandry, Usse, Gisieux, Le Lude, and Langais are all under an hour away.
- The Wine Trail with wine tasting and guided tours through the limestone caves of Saumur and Champigny, drive through endless vineyards across the rolling countryside at Bougeuil and Chinon.
- Music – Son et Lumiere at Le Lude Chateaux only a 15 minute drive away.
- Zoo de La Fleche. A 15 minute drive to a conservation zoo containing grizzly bears, wolves, big cats and falconry on horseback, all in an open air setting.
- Futuroscope at Poitiers provides a fantastic day out at this amazing theme park which offers incredible laser shows and virtual reality simulators, something of interest for all ages.
- The area provides a wide choice for wining and dining from local village restaurants (La Balem) providing a typical French lunch to gourmet evening dining by the Loire Rivers. Sample local wines, fresh seafood and local specialities.
Activities:
Walking - extensive country lanes, river banks and lake sides to be explored.
Cycling - we provide five adult bikes but please feel free to bring your own especially for the children.
Tennis - there is a free hard court in the centre of the village five minutes away. Rackets and balls are available at the house.
Table Tennis - enjoy a lively game of table tennis at the house. Bats and balls provided.
Snooker/Pool - we have a quarter size table at the house.
Horse Riding - available locally. Details at the house or via Yellow Pages.
Fishing - local lakes and rivers, some will need a permit. There is a rod at the house but bring your own tackle.
Golf - 18 hole championship course at Bauge is just a 30 minute drive away, set in lovely countryside.

Travel:
- By car via Euro Tunnel.
- By car via Ferry from Calais, Caen, Cherbourg, Le Havre ,St Malo and Dieppe.
- By train via Eurostar to Paris, then TGV high-speed train to Tour. Here you can hire a car which is essential for this holiday.
- By plane from Stanstead to Tour and from Gatwick to Nante and Poitiers.
