It has a separate bath house with shower, bath linens, soap, shampoo and cream rinse. Ocean View is conveniently located halfway between the wonders of the Kilauea Volcano and the tourist crowds of Kailua-Kona. It is a friendly rural community and is known for its star filled nighttime skies. You won't find heavy traffic or bright city lights.....or even a traffic light. But you will find many great adventures for day trip excursions including white, black & green sand beaches and the active Kilauea Volcano. Along your journeys you can stop at local farmers’ markets, visit coffee mills or a Buddhist temple and experience much of the old Hawaii flavor…..or as we call it, the “real” Hawaii'.

About Ron and Karen Gall
Ron was born and raised in Oregon. Karen was raised in Michigan before moving to Oregon. We retired and moved to the Big Island in 2011. We finished building our ohana in June of 2014 and named it 'Hale Luana'. We look forward to hosting many guests from around the world and to sharing the beauty of our island paradise.
Ron and Karen Gall purchased this cottage in 2011
Why Ron and Karen Gall chose Ocean View
We bought this property because the weather is perfect at this 2200 Ft elevation; the view of the Pacific Ocean & South Point; and the multitude of mature ornamental and fruit trees and plants.
The property is located in a small town yet within access to so many island attractions. Easy day trips include South Point, Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, Akaka Falls and City of Refuge as well as Kona and Hilo.
What makes this cottage unique
You can spend time at the beaches, Kilauea Volcano, botanical gardens, farmers' markets, or explore lava caverns. Ocean View has a few good eateries, stores and other amenities without the traffic and crowds of Kailua-Kona or Hilo. You won't even see a traffic light here.
