Brac is a huge and proud boat. Situated in the middle of the blue of sea and the sky. It stopped 9 miles away from Split as the first one in the Middle dalmatian archipelago. With its 394 km2 it is the biggest dalmatian island and the second one between 1185 islands in the Adriatic sea. Vidova gora with it’s hight of 778m is making this island the highest island of the Adriatic. Its length is 40 km and its width is between 4 and 13 km. With its 175 km long coast Brac embraced the warm, blue and cristal sea. The island of the sun.
With more than 2700 hours of sunshine per year year it is one of the sunniest islands of Croatia. Very famous croatian writer, Jure Kaštelan, born in Omis, was amazed with this island all his life long. – “Brac, its name smells like the minth and the lavander. And, in the morning and the sunset time, the sun is shining through the pine and olive trees. And the sea never stop to chat with the stones on the coast and the strands.
