Our charming Cape Cod home is part of a quiet, residential Historic Neighborhood (the original 2 rooms of the Captain Rogers House date to 1845), and within walking distance of 2 beaches (1/4 mile to Loop, Riley's closer.) Extensive additions and renovations through the years combine Cape Cod charm with modern comfort. This is a wonderful home for family reunions. There are 3 queen bedrooms (one on first floor with full bath), 1 king room, and 1 triple with twin beds (and private bath). All bedrooms have window air conditioners, and 3 of the upstairs bedrooms also have ceiling fans. All linens are provided.
The house has wireless internet and smart TV, and an outdoor shower. A rare open floor plan creates a light filled living and dining area, and the large screened porch has a second dining table for bugless summer meals. There is a card table with 4 chairs for additional dining seating, or for games and puzzles. A sun-porch lined with large French windows on 2 sides stretches across the front of the house. A 'morning room' for cozy chats or snuggling up with a good book (Kindle?), as well as a reading nook on the upper stair landing gives everyone a place to settle.
Four adult bikes (with helmets) and 3 kids' are available, as well as croquet and badminton sets and other yard games to be set up in the flat backyard for active vacationers. A hammock is there too, for those who wish to snooze. A beach umbrella, beach towels, beach chairs and beach toys (with wagon to transport) are provided. Close proximity to the water is a plus for kayaking and SUP (Stand-Up-Paddleboarding). Cotuit is home to a championship Cape Cod League baseball team (kettleers.org), and the picturesque ballpark is nearby.
The Village includes a local market with prepared foods, as well as delicious fresh baked goods & coffee (a recommended start to your day). The Post Office, church, restaurant/pub, and town dock are nearby, as is the library, which offers a full schedule of family activities. A playground is nestled between the church and the library.
Shopping and groceries are 1 stoplight away on Route 28, and Mashpee Commons, featuring national chain stores, a movie theater and restaurants is just a few miles from the house. A beach pass is provided, good at all Barnstable beaches and everywhere that requires a resident permit for parking in Barnstable county.
