Not quite as it appears
Overall, this cottage was clean however there were a few issues. I emailed the owner following our stay, and had no response. I felt she should be aware of the issues we had. The light fixture above the kitchen table did not work. The toilet "ran" unless you returned a minute or so later and wiggled the handle... this worsened over our stay. The water appeared brown in the toilet bowl. The gas grill is a disaster! Major rust on the part where the gas comes out, and it was dirty. My husband cleaned it and we thought we'd give it a try... our beautiful ribeye caught on fire. The bicycles that appear in the photos we found in a corner of the yard against a fence with loads of dead leaves, cob webs, etc. More cleaning than you want to do when you are the renter, not the owner. The house (although clean) was very cluttered - it was hard to find a spot by the couch to set down your drink while watching TV. The "neighborhood" had some refurbished homes, while others (including next door) were very questionable. (junked out yard, etc) The positives: comfortable beds, fresh clean linens, and a nice fire pits and cornhole game in the backyard. I've rented over 25 vacation homes and this is the first one that wasn't as depicted. I would not stay again, but don't necessarily advise against it.
