The property was exactly as advertised. The pictures you see online are identical to the condo unit. We appreciated the gated community, especially because this was not a resort area. We had six adults in our group, so the condo fit our needs as it had 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. In addition, it was very handy to have a washer and dryer. The kitchen was fairly well-equipped and met our needs. Although, we usually ate out for dinner.
Sitting on the balcony in the morning was very peaceful and relaxing. The beach right outside the condo was great for surfing, sunning and playing in the sand. Having snorkeling equipment, boogie boards, beach chairs and beach towels in the condo was a plus. A swimming beach is within walking distance and is recommended for families with smaller children.
You can't go wrong with the restaurants nearby. Pasta y Pueblo was fantastic (a short block away). Guava, right next door, was also very good. We also ate at the Brass Cactus and Lolita's. Every restaurant we ate at was great! If you go swimming at Luquillo Beach, be sure to eat at the kiosks-- very good local food.
If you need supplies, we recommend driving a short distance to Fajardo and going to WalMart or Ralph's.
We highly recommend the following activites: Ziplining in El Yunque (Yunke Zipline), hiking in the rainforest and swimming in the waterfalls--all free, Bioluminescent Bay kayaking and mini boat/snorkeling tours (Miniboat Adventures in Fajardo), and a catamaran snorkeling tour (East Island Excursions in Fajardo).
Fred Concepcion was easy to work with and answered all of our many questions. Mr. Cruz was very helpful onsite and did a great job giving us a tour of the condo and overview of the area when we first arrived.
We would highly recommend this property for others searching for a less touristy, more authentic stay in the area. Very reasonably priced, too!
