Adderbury is one of the 'Ironstone' villages of North Oxfordshire, all built in the local Hornton stone around lovely churches. Neighbouring Bloxham, King's Sutton and Deddington are all within 4 miles. A little further are the more well-known attractions of Broughton Castle, Wroxton Abbey, Oxford, Blenheim, Stratford upon Avon and Warwick. There are at least 4 golf courses within 7 miles of Adderbury and Banbury has a new Sports Centre nearing completion as well as a most attractive canalside district. The railway station at Banbury has frequent services to London and Birmingham as well as more local destinations.
Adderbury is a good centre from which to walk - both within the village and further afield. In each direction a pleasant walk of 2 miles or so will bring you to a good pub lunch. The local bus service to Banbury in one direction, or Oxford in the other, enables you to forget your car and yet still access lovely places that are 'beyond the parish'.
