A tasteful barn conversion with something for everyone to enjoy the perfect French holiday. Grand Saint Nazaire offers a large, private (heated) swimming pool with stunning, uninterrupted views over the vineyards towards the ancient Cathar church of Capestang and the Black mountains beyond. The house has three levels. The ground floor has a spacious open plan kitchen that opens into a large dining area and sunny terrace. A spacious living room with three sofas and a 42inch LCD satellite TV and DVD, overlooks the vineyards. There is a downstairs WC and separate utility room (washing machine and drier). A further room with day beds may be separated from the living room to offer additional accommodation. It has glass doors that open onto the south-facing terrace.The first floor offers three bright double bedrooms and two stylish bathrooms. The house benefits from a privileged position set in the vineyards that overlook Capestang.

The house can comfortably accommodate larger groups with a further 3 bedrooms and study on the second floor,where.there are two large rooms with ensuite bathrooms and one double bedroom.The rooms feature exposed timbers and stone walls with French windows overlooking the vines to Capestang. Please do contact me if you are interested in the larger house.

The large pool and mature garden can be fully enclosed for the safety of small children.The pool is 11m x 7.5m, max. which includes the lounging step. Large walnut, olive and fruit trees provide shade. Outside there is also a petanque pitch and table tennis and a hammock.The grounds are private and extend to over two acres with around one third used for the garden and pool area and the remainder under vines.

NB: Attached barns: The House is part of an old wine domain called Grand Saint Nazaire. The attached barns belong to the property and are only used by the owner out of the rental season.

What a great place to stay it is a fantastic big house that can accomodate 8 people with plenty of room to spare.It is beautifully decorated and has the best pool and garden to enjoy. Great BBQs were had on the terrace and the children loved chasing each other through the vineyards. It is perfectly located to visit Carcassonne Narbonne and Mountpellier. Dont miss the market in Narbonne it is great. We hired a boat on the Canal and had a great day out. The beaches are wide and the water was warm a nice suprise as our holiday was early June this year. Thank you for sharing your house with us we will definitely return in the future. We had the most memorable time with our friends in Capestang.

I know I speak for all my party when I say that Grand Saint Nazaire is the best holiday home we have stayed in over twenty years of visiting France more or less annually. You are to be

A beautiful house near to Capestang.
Easy access to the town and the Canal du Midi.
The house is very well equipped to ensure a very comfortable stay.
Spectacular views out across the vineyards which are most captivating.
The pool is lovely and a good size for swimming or just to enjoy a quick dip to cool off.
Very easy access to two local supermarkets and plenty of local bakeries within easy reach.
We had a great trip and would definitely return again.

Great vacation

We - 2 parents and 3 children - enjoyed our stay very much.
There is plenty of room in the house and in the garden area.
The house is well equipped. There is a lot to discover. Our children loved the pool area.
Sarah and Sylvie take carefully care about house, pool and garden. They are very friendly and helped us.
We spend a day kayaking on the river Orb, which was really fun and excitement due to some rapids.
Prior vacation we received a lot of good information by Phil. The contractual and financial stuff went fast and accurate.
We can strongly recommand this house.

Exceeded expectations

The first comment that my daughter made when we arrived for our two week holiday was that the pictures on the website didn't do this place justice. We were impressed by this beautiful house and setting and had an excellent holiday in the area.

The house was clean, well-prepared and well equipped. Sylvie, who looked after the house and Sarah, who looked after the garden were friendly and helpful. We had a small problem with the shower and this was resolved quickly.

Excellent swimming pool and table tennis in the garden which was well-used.

Capestang is a typical, quite large French village with a full range of services and facilities. It's a good base for exploration of the region although we had pretty hot weather and didn't really venture far.

We'd certainly recommend this house and would be happy to go back another year.

Wonderful place!

This is a wonderful place to stay. The house is big, with lots of rooms off one another.The pool and garden is beautifully kept, and we used it a lot.The whole property has been thoughtfully set out.Capestang is a friendly place and shopping is easy.There are many delightful and cheap restaurants in the town, and by the canal. Lots to see around and about, but we rather enjoyed staying around the pool.The owner was very helpful, and answered my emails when booking very promptly. I strongly recommend it for a large family gathering, or more than one family together. Walking by the Canal du midi is a must!

Capestang (only 1km from the house) is a charming village, centred on a square and the Canal du Midi, it has outdoor cafes, restaurants and bars. There are a range of other amenities including boulangeries/ patisseries (5), butcheries, pharmacy and local caves. The 14th century Cathar church is also found in the square and overlooks the twice weekly market - Sunday and Wednesday morning. Just 2 minutes walk beyond the square is the Canal du Midi (designated as a World Heriatge Site) with magnificent views to the Mediterranean over vines and to the peaks of the Pyrenees.

Capestang enjoys an idyllic setting and is in a prime location for easy access to the more cosmopolitan cafe life of both Beziers and Narbonne. The beaches of the Mediterranean, and the Black Mountains of the Languedoc Regional Park are within 30 minutes drive.
