The former headquarters of a completely derelict iron-ore mine, which dates from Roman times, with the 40 hectares woodland have been completely transformed in a garden of Eden during last 20 years. The 19th century buildings have been converted into a restaurant and guest rooms, while a smaller house in the garden is now a romantic cottage. In the wide, lush garden, which has been established with surprising success on top of the old mine debris, live now a large amount of plants, flowers, fruits and vegetables, while in the woods wild fungi and berries are picked to find their way into seasonal menus, based on interesting Jewish-Italian or Piedmont's cooking. There are shady terraces, ruins to explore in the old mine's enchanting world: forges, ancient mill's stone wheels, galleries, abandoned villages, Napoleonic mule tracks... Lovers of wildlife, geologists, archaeologists, mycologists, artists and sportsmen will find a new world for their interests and passions.
