Valhalla Golf Course is about a 15 minute drive from St. Matthews and can be accessed in a number of routes including via I-264 to I-64 East, or simply take Brown Avenue 1.5 blocks to Shelbyville Road, and make a left, and follow to Valhalla. If you are looking for a residential setting that is convenient to the PGA Championship at Valhalla AND all the amenities of St. Matthews shopping, dining, and nightlife, this is the PGA rental for you!
Our house is a 1940s Cape Cod that has been renovated in the past 5 years. The kitchen is fully functional with fridge, stove, microwave, and dishwasher, granite counters, lots of counter space for its size. Two bedrooms on the first floor & a full bath. The basement is finished with additional entertaining space. It is well-lit, and is very cool on a HOT August day. The 2nd floor has been expanded and features a luxurious master suite with 2 sitting areas, a queen sized bed, walk-in closet, and deluxe Master Bath w/ double vanity, separate shower & tub.
The home measures about 1,800 square feet above ground + another 550 finished in the basement.
There is a driveway with room for 4 cars, and a spacious backyard.
We love our neighborhood. We can walk to several of Louisville's best restaurants including: Equus (upscale dining) & Jack's Lounge (adjoins Equus offering a great menu in a more casual atmosphere), Cafe Lou Lou (casual), Del Frisco's (Fine steaks), and Havana Rumba (Cuban). There are of course several other great spots nearby, but those are all within a couple of blocks of our home.
We are a family of 5 living happily in our 3 Bedroom little Cape Cod. It's a trade-off in that our location affords us too many joys to feel the need to move outside the city for more space!

We bought this home for the location & the natural charm that it affords. We purchased it from the original owners' daughter, and we've heavily renovated & expanded it since then.
Walkability is huge these days, and this home affords great walkability. Unbelievable proximity to great restaurants, bars, the Olmsted Parks of Seneca & Cherokee, shopping the St. Matthews Boutiques, and a short drive to downtown, the Ohio River, and more!
