Stunning location in the foothills of the Preseli mountains, with direct access to the moor + mountains with sheep + wild ponies grazing. Close to the source of the bluestones for the inner ring of Stonehenge-Walk to Carn Meini the source of the bluestones for the inner ring of Stonehenge + just 5 minutes walk from Gors Fawr circle and even closer to the dreaming stone...

There are five Cottages at Trallwyn and a Yurt. It is possible to book all the cottages for larger groups.

Pottery Tuition: We also offer Pottery Tuition - Anna has a Pottery Workshop in the gardens and guests are welcome to make some pots as part of their holiday. For more details on Pottery see Anna's website.

This area is full of natural beauty - far from the madding crowds - a peaceful haven - truly away from it all...we have Red Kites which fly overhead + in the Summer the song of the Skylark - and a clear starry night sky far from light pollution -great for star gazing.

Trallwyn Bach is full of charm and character, though just a small studio, it has everything you need for your holiday+it is very economically priced with 2 nights starting at £100 in low season or a week for £180! There is a small fitted kitchen area with halogen cooker, sink+fridge, toaster and kettle. Small living area with seating for 2. And a small shower room with shower sink + loo. The kingsize bed is in a stone alcove with wonderful views to the moor with sheep+wild ponies grazing. There is a small mutlifuel stove to make it really cosy. Outside there is a very small private seating area, there are communal gardens and direct access to the moor+Mountains. This property is the smallest at Trallwyn Cottages the next sized cottage sleeps 3 and is much more spacious. Pottery tuition is available between Easter and October. Anna has a small pottery workshop where she offers tuition. Suitable for the complete beginner or the more experienced. Avail Apr-Oc
About Anna Kavanagh

Anna moved to Pembrokeshire in the late '80's and has gradually created a number of beautiful places to stay. Originally from London it was always her dream to live somewhere wild and beautiful. She trained originally in Bristol to teach nursery/infants and special needs children and studied ceramics.

Part of the motivation behind moving to the area was to enable her children to go to the local Steiner School, Nant-y-Cwm which is just four miles away.

Ashera Pottery opened in '95. It is here that Anna works...inspired by the natural world and landscape around her...to paint...to pot...to build...Each year she does more teaching...there seems to be a real need for people to get in touch with their creative side...and for children and whole families to spend time together...making things...she enjoys passing on her skills...working with small groups and when weather permits outside...

For Anna one of the main delights of living here is the wonderful view with ever changing colours. The big skies and the red kites and the song of skylarks...

'One of my favourite treats is to watch the sun setting beyond the moor and the new Moon rising.'

As well as enjoying the immediate and magical surroundings of Trallwyn Anna loves the coves and beaches which are abundant in this part of the world. In 2002 Anna bought an old village house in Polopos Village Southern Spain...which she thinks of as a perfect compliment to Wales...She now spends some of the cooler months in a warmer climate...

Pottery teaching is usually available in the months when Anna is in Wales which includes most of the high Summer season...

Trallwyn Cottages + Yurt are situated in the foothills of the Preseli Mountains, in the heart of the bluestone country. The setting is idyllic with direct access to the moor and mountains with it's sheep and wild ponies. Gors Fawr 5000 year old stone circle is just 5 minutes walk from the cottage, and a 2 hour walk takes you up to the quarry on Carn Meini where the bluestones were taken to make the inner ring of stonehenge. Ideal for walkers and people looking to truly get away from it all.

The beautiful Pembrokeshire coastline hosts the most spectacular scenery and beaches as well as wildlife. The cottages are situated 1/2 a mile from the small village of Mynachlogddu...and up a 200 yard track from the lane...all making at a very safe place for children...

Other Activities: Pottery tuition is available on site with Anna in the Pottery Workshop + is suitable for adults + children.

Trallwyn Bach is ideally suited to a single person or couple we are open to young babies or one small child staying if you either share the bed or bring a moses basket with you...though space is restricted...one child has often stayed...either sleeping on an airbed, mattress or travel cot. We are fine with this, so long as you understand that it is our smallest place. If you prefer more space - Trallwyn Cottage is the next sized Cottage and is much more spacious with separate kitchen, living-room + also a single bedroom as well as a bathroom with a bath, sink + loo. It also has a woodstove.

'Far from the madding crowd' even some of the roads are quiet. A perfect hideway in which to unwind. Love the cave bed and view of the moor. Really enjoyed the pottery sessions + we are so pleased with our pots. Every time we use the mugs we will think of this place.

Perfect Cottage studio

Our first time at Trallwyn, but it won't be our last. Had such a lovely time. The cottage is absolutely perfect; relaxing and peaceful. To wake up to the sound of the birds singing and sheep baa-ing was just what the doctor ordered. This place feels good for the soul.

Our sicere thanks to Anna for providing such sanctuary.

Small is beautiful-our best studio stay ever!

Trallwyn Bach is a complete delight, it is true it is small but has everything we could possibly need. We feel like we have totally escaped the rest of the world when we come and stay in this gorgeous hideaway. It is also such a bargain price that we often come for 2 weeks holiday instead of just the one. We love the bed in it's cave like stone alcove, and we love to watch the sheep out on the moor and the sunsets. We feel like we never want to leave-such a brilliant place to unwind. From here we can walk through a gate onto the moor and up into the mountains + as we are great walkers it is a very ideal spot for us. If you are looking for something a little bit different this is it!

We also did some pottery with Anna for the first time-and now have some great pots to take home. We enjoyed learning to throw on the wheel-which was much harder than we thought-but with Anna 's help we now have some mugs and bowls to remind us of Trallwyn.

We Have become regular visitors to Trallwyn Cottages as it is just a perfect place for a holiday!
