Stunning location in the foothills of the Preseli mountains, with direct access to the moor + mountains with sheep + wild ponies grazing. Close to the source of the bluestones for the inner ring of Stonehenge-Walk to Carn Meini the source of the bluestones for the inner ring of Stonehenge + just 5 minutes walk from Gors Fawr circle and even closer to the dreaming stone...

There are five Cottages at Trallwyn and a Yurt. It is possible to book all the cottages for larger groups.

Pottery Tuition: We also offer Pottery Tuition - Anna has a Pottery Workshop in the gardens and guests are welcome to make some pots as part of their holiday. For more details on Pottery see Anna's website.

This area is full of natural beauty - far from the madding crowds - a peaceful haven - truly away from it all...we have Red Kites which fly overhead + in the Summer the song of the Skylark - and a clear starry night sky far from light pollution -great for star gazing.

A beautiful 300 year old 3 bedroom Pembrokeshire Farmhouse that is full of character+charm+sleeps up to 8. It has been restored retaining many original features has thick curvy stone walls+is a wonderful place to get away from it all.. Accommodation: open plan pine kitchen+dining area with oil fired stanley; gas hob, electric oven, microwave, fridge & freezer; living area with inglenook+woodburning stove,stereo+TV with Video+ highchair,conservatory overlooking the garden; washing machine+dryer. Outside there is a small garden area with wooden table and benches. There are also communal gardens+children's play area + direct access to the moor with sheep and wild ponies. There is garden furniture out on the moor as well as a firepit to have a real fire. Wood can be gathered from the moor and used to make fire on Summer evenings. You can if you wish cook on the fire, but of course if you prefer you are welcome to bring a barbecue. Pottery tuition available April-October.
About Anna Kavanagh

Anna moved to Pembrokeshire in the late '80's and has gradually created a number of beautiful places to stay. Originally from London it was always her dream to live somewhere wild and beautiful. She trained originally in Bristol to teach nursery/infants and special needs children and studied ceramics.

Part of the motivation behind moving to the area was to enable her children to go to the local Steiner School, Nant-y-Cwm which is just four miles away.

Ashera Pottery opened in '95. It is here that Anna works...inspired by the natural world and landscape around her...to paint...to pot...to build...Each year she does more teaching...there seems to be a real need for people to get in touch with their creative side...and for children and whole families to spend time together...making things...she enjoys passing on her skills...working with small groups and when weather permits outside...

For Anna one of the main delights of living here is the wonderful view with ever changing colours. The big skies and the red kites and the song of skylarks...

'One of my favourite treats is to watch the sun setting beyond the moor and the new Moon rising.'

As well as enjoying the immediate and magical surroundings of Trallwyn Anna loves the coves and beaches which are abundant in this part of the world. In 2002 Anna bought an old village house in Polopos Village Southern Spain...which she thinks of as a perfect compliment to Wales...She now spends some of the cooler months in a warmer climate...

Pottery teaching is usually available in the months when Anna is in Wales which includes most of the high Summer season...

Trallwyn Cottages + Yurt are situated in the foothills of the Preseli Mountains, in the heart of the bluestone country. The setting is idyllic with direct access to the moor and mountains with it's sheep and wild ponies. Gors Fawr 5000 year old stone circle is just 5 minutes walk from the cottage, and a 2 hour walk takes you up to the quarry on Carn Meini where the bluestones were taken to make the inner ring of stonehenge. Ideal for walkers and people looking to truly get away from it all.

The beautiful Pembrokeshire coastline hosts the most spectacular scenery and beaches as well as wildlife. The cottages are situated 1/2 a mile from the small village of Mynachlogddu...and up a 200 yard track from the lane...all making at a very safe place for children...

Other Activities: Pottery tuition is available on site with Anna in the Pottery Workshop + is suitable for adults + children.

Thanksyou Anna, you've created such a wonderful retreat! It's really felt like 'a home from home' and allowed us to explore Pembrokeshire for the first time. We hope to become regulars, as the walks among such abundant wild life, beaches and friendly open people have made the holiday very special, all things we would like Seth to experience as he grows up. I need to come back with better walking boots to tackle those hills!

Delightful Farmhouse in Pembrokeshire

We loved the farmhouse, so full of character and beautifully renovated. the cottage is very cosy and in the evenings we enjoyed sitting round the wood stove.

Trallwyn is a great base for adventuring on the Pembrokeshire hills and coastline. We found the beaches to be stunning. The highlights for the children were seeing the dolphins in Cardigan bay, surfing and doing pottery with Anna on rainy days.

We recommend the farmhouse as a perfect getaway.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Pet-friendly, Girls Getaway, Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway
