|Minimum Stay||3 nights|
Affectionately known as the 'Rhinestone Fisherman' this fantasy pirate/ocean themed waterfront vacation rental will make for a vacation you will cherish for a lifetme. Matlacha(MAT-la-shay) is just 30 minutes from Ft. Myers, but this secluded fishing village is a world apart! Fishermen, artists, bikers, vacationers all rub elbows and share the love of its unpretentious atmosphere. Unlike some topnotch fishing destinations, the intriguing thing about Matlacha is the plethora of attractions for non anglers: shops, restaurants, landmarks, and vusual curiosities. Golfers will appreciate golfing at the Royal Tee Golf championship golf club(less than 5 minutes away). Fishermen can relax on their excursions with the knowledge that family memberrs ashore will not be bored or grouchy because of nothing to do.
The Rhinestone Fisherman is a fisherman's and an artist's dream. Actually partway perched on a long fishing dock, this elegantly furnished vacation rental has an 80 foot fishing dock and a 7000 lb. capacity boat lift just waiting to be used by you. The lighting and murals in this home are incredible. Bose surround sound system, two wide screen televisions, and WIFI will all add to your enjoyment.
As you gaze over the bay, enjoy your time in the gourmet kitchen--exotic granite, stainless steel appliances, elegant cabinetry, all add to give you the feeling of a home away from home. With the hand laid rhinestones walls, hand painted murals, jeweled furniture the dining room is one of a kind. Watch the dolphins from your king size bed in the master suite. Murals with fiber optic lights, big screen tv and a computer and reading area add to the WOW effect of this suite.
Soak in the jacuzzi tub filled by a large gold waterfall shower head surrounded by glass mosaic tiles and actual glow in the dark grout! The queen bedroom lavishes you with that 'ole Florida charm'. The kids will squeal with delight upon seeing the exquisite murals depicting the history of Matlacha .
Come on down anhd give us a call for a vacation I guarantee you will never forget!!!
Driving to Ft. Myers one day on business, I decided to take a trip through Matlacha. I was immediately struck by the old town atmosphere, the beauty, and overall feel of this village. If you close your eyes and open them you'd swear you were somewhere in Key West. The natural beauty of the areas only accessible by boat was another attraction for me.
This vacation rental practically built on top of your own dock. SITTING ON THE DOCK OF THE BAY song will readily come to mind each morning seeing the sunrise. WOW factor
Being the general manager of a large restaurant chain in Iowa, cleanliness is very important to me. We were impressed how squeaky clean this house was. It truly sparkled(even without the rhinestones). We were greeted by owners that wanted us to love it. They gave us their personal phone numbers in case any problems arose. The only problem that arose...we had to leave. On the 3rd day of our stay, we booked another vacation at Rhinestone Fisherman. That says a lot(especially since I am not a fisherman). While our friends cooked the fish they caught from the dock, we enjoyed cracked conch and prime rib at Sandy Hook Restaurant. Loved everything about this place!!!
We just got back a few days ago from our trip. It was an amazing experience to stay at this house. The decorations and pirate-themed furniture were great! It definitely felt like a vacation home. We went fishing every day right outside the back porch. We also had the pleasure of seeing manatees every morning nearby the dock. It was so beautiful and peaceful. Honestly, this house would be ideal for anyone. Our family and a friend's family stayed at this house together, and our group ranged from teenagers (age 14) to the elderly (age 80). The house was very clean, and included everything we needed. We had a wonderful time here, and I would definitely go back again!
My husband and I saw the photos for this great cottage online and knew we had to go! And what a surprise we had when we arrived...it was 100 times better than the pictures and right on the water!
We had such a great time kayaking and fishing every day and grilling what we ate most every night....our favorite things to do!
Last but not least, everything was spotless! A++ clean
We will definitely go back!
We just returned from a week in Matlacha, Fla. We stayed at this property, also lovingly known as the "Rhinestone Fisherman". Let me preface my review by stating we made reservations to return for spring break, before we even left! It was THAT AWESOME! Three 13 year old boys, and one set of parents....the interior of the house was unlike any other. The photos do not do it justice, and must be seen in person to truly capture the unique experience. We fell in love with the dock. The kids fished from dawn to dusk...even caught dinner off the dock. Captain Cliff, took us on a couple of charters, and conveniently picked us up and dropped us off from our dock. We saw dolphin (hand fed by one boy), and manatee, and a slew of different bird species. We walked to Berts (4 doors down), for exceptional meals, and entertainment. The kids went across the street for live bait everyday, and the food store was a 5 minute drive away. This was a chilled-out, laid back ,funky town...with a focus on fishing. We met several locals, and neighbors, and actually made some friends we will see again in the spring. Could not have been a more perfect trip or vacation home....best stocked rental kitchen I have ever seen!! Also...most comfortable sofa bed mattress I have ever felt. If you go, send your fishing gear down in advance...there is none on the property. We did that with the help of the property manager, and it worked out perfectly!!!! there were 2 kayaks there, and nearby additional rentals if needed!!
We have rented several locations from Shelley and this one is our new favorite! You can't beat the location and the views are amazing. We ate just about every meal waterfront. My husband had a great time fishing while I relaxed on the patio with my book and the dogs. We used the kayaks for a nice day trip and went into the shops of Mathlaca. Breakfast just up the street at the Perfect cup was great!! Kitchen is amazing and there are no words or pics to explain the decor. WOW it is an awesome house.
Third year in a row 2 friends and I combined a stay at Rhinestone Fisherman with a 3-day fishing trip with Capt. Tim Sisemore. Everything was great. Guide picks you up at the dock, fish cleaning station is right there(you ALWAYS get fish with Capt. Tim}, and the gourmet kitchen is the perfect place to prepare the fresh catch (trout, snook, redfish). Accommodations and arrangements are great and you can walk to everything in Matlacha. Plenty of room to relax after a hard day on the water! Definitely our first choice for our Florida fishing excursions.
