Kefallonia (Cephalonia) Vacation Rental villa: Svoronata/Sarlata

We had a fantastic holiday. The owners were really helpful before leaving and provided details of car rental companies. The close proximity to the airport meant that we landed and 10 minutes later were enjoying the sunshine and splashing in the pool - what more could we ask for. While we were there we weren't bothered by the airport at all, as there aren't that many flights to Kefalonia. The villa was just perfect. The two boys (both aged 5 and a half) loved the pool and were straight in every morning. The villa had everything we needed and more, plenty of activities (DVD's for both children and adults, pool table etc), a large fridge/freezer which made catering easy and the rooms were spacious and nicely furnished. In fact we can't fault it at all. A bit of outdoor irrigation maintenance was need while we were there and the men made sure they didn't bother us and checked when we would be out before they turned the water off.

Highlight of the holiday was seeing the turtles at the harbour in Argostoli. We'd recommended a car as the island is beautiful and worth exploring.

We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this villa and will definitely return again. Thank you for letting us use your wonderful holiday home - we had one of the best holidays ever.

We have just returned from our family holiday staying at Villa Nerina and can honestly say that we have had one of the best holidays ever. Our party consisted of 2 adults and 2 children (15 yrs and 12 yrs) and the villa and the island had something for us all.

The villa is quite simply outstanding. There is plenty of room and the quality of finish is to a very high standard offering all mod cons such as washing machine, dishwasher, iPod docking stations, wall mounted TV and DVD system (with an excellent selection of films for those evenings where you want to stay in) etc. Downstairs in the huge basement is a pool table and playstation so that on those odd occassions when the kids weren't making use of the good sized pool, they could occupy themselves quite happily. The villa was spotless on our arrival and was cleaned (with bedding and towel change) twice whilst we were there. We also had a visit from Angela who manages the property on behalf of the owners who was very helpful and wanted to ensure that we were happy with everything. As we explained to her, we failed to see how anyone could be unhappy in such a lovely villa.
For us, one of the properties main attributes is the peace and quiet and sense of privacy. Don't be put off by the fact that the islands airport is literally a 2 minute drive away - you will not notice it.

Whilst there are plenty of taxis on the island and what looks like a reasonable bus service, our view is that a car is essential. Having looked at the local rates, we would suggest that you arrange hire via the internet before you go as it works out cheaper (we used Hertz on line and picked the car up at the aiport when we landed).

Lassi is about a 10 minute drive away and has plenty of tavernas, shops and minimarkets. It also has a lovely sandy beach with some watersports but it does get very busy. The port of Argostili is about 20 minutes away and has more in the way of tavernas, shops, markets, banks etc. If you want to go paragliding (the kids loved it) you will need to go to Skala (about an hour away) - the beach is shingle but a lot less crowded. The visitors book in the villa will give you details of the tavernas etc to try but if you want to do something a bit different visit the Gentilini vineyard which is about 5 minutes away (on the way to Lassi) - worth the visit !!

All in all we had a fantastic time. The villa is outstanding and we would happily recommend it to anyone.

We are 7 people from Spain, we are friends and family, the villa is perfect and very comfortable. The location is perfect too and the island is the best. If you want to spend a great days on holidays, no doubt! Villa Nerina is your home!.

Ah! You will find friends in everywhere:"The sailor" in the nearest minimarket, Jovan in "Sertaki Restaurant", Regina if you rent a boat in Fiskardo....People are really nice!
