Our 1400 square foot house is on a quiet residential street. Sleeps 6. Main bedroom has a queen-size bed, other two bedrooms have single beds. The recreation room has a futon couch that unfolds into a double bed. Linens are supplied for all beds. Recreation room also has a 42” flat-screen TV with DVD/Playstation/Rockband. Kitchen includes gas stove, microwave, pots, pans and utensils, dishwasher, espresso maker, and table for 4 which expands with a leaf to seat 6. Washer and dryer are included. Living room includes stereo and extensive collection of CDs. Wifi available. Large fenced yard includes a BBQ, small patio, trampoline, badminton rackets and net, croquet set. Street parking in front of the house is never crowded. There is lots of Lego and games for kids.
The following amenities are available within a 5-10 minute walk: Trout Lake park, including community centre with fitness facilities, beach with lifeguard and swimming facilities for children, two playgrounds, running trails around the lake, and Saturday Farmers Market. Also within 5-10 minutes walk are a large grocery store and pharmacy, smaller health-food and organics grocery store, public library, beer and wine store open ‘til 11 pm daily, several cafes, a multitude of ethnic restaurants. We are in an ideal central location for transit options. We find we can get to most places in Vancouver within 30-45 minutes by transit, and regularly do. Within a 5 minute walk are buses to downtown, Stanley park, UBC, Metrotown, and Kits beach. The Skytrain, our rapid transit network which connects the airport, downtown, Burnaby and Surrey, is a 15-minute walk away. The shops, cafes, pubs, restaurants and live-music venues of Commercial Drive are a 15-minute walk away.
We have several guidebooks on the area including hiking trails, and are able to provide lots of information about entertainment, dining, recreation etc. We are also happy to give information about vegetarian options.
