Perfect location, even better setting. Listen as the wind whistles through the pines and get ready to relax. This 'cabin' is a touch of Northern Minnesota nostalgia with all the necessities to make your vacation completely relaxing. Don't want to cook - there are plenty of fun restaurants nearby. The fully stocked kitchen has a refrigerator, oven, cook top, microwave, coffee pot, and all the dishes and utensils. Sleeps 6 - the bunk beds are great for kids, the bedroom has a double bed. Every room offers an up close view of the lake. The stone fireplace will be a great way to warm up during the cool evenings. Use the fire pit just a few feet from the lake for s'mores and campfire stories. The private dock is a perfect place to tie up your boat after a day of tubing, fishing or just sightseeing and enjoying a day on the lake.
Whether you're looking for a great family getaway, a guys fishing trip, or a relaxing girls trip, this is the place for it. The wildlife is abundant, the fishing exciting, the relaxing world class. Fall asleep to the call of loons and the feeling that life has gotten back to the pace we can all appreciate....awaken to a cup of coffee on the deck and listen to the world come alive around you. The Lost 40 is less than half an hour away and a treasured Minnesota Forest icon with trails and some unbelievably large pines.
My business partner and our wives own the cabin right next door. We always wanted to purchase this cabin and renovate it. We love the proximity to the lake and really feel like it's the best 100' on the lake. The feeling is as if you've stepped back in time....
Lance Pogones purchased this cabin in 2012
We looked all over Minnesota and Wisconsin! We loved Jessie Lake the first time we visited and were attracted to the view and the closeness to the lake and nature. We have loved learning about and listening to the loons, always marvel at the bald eagles, and spotted wolves, fox pups, deer, and a bear - and lots of large fish :-)
My husband, pooch and I spent Labor Day weekend here and it was absolutely perfect. We have rented many places on VRBO and this is one of the few we would return to without hesitation. The view was beautiful, espeically with all the great windows facing the lake. It felt secluded enough, but still some open space to get some sun and see the fantastic sunset and sky full of starts at night. The cabin was clean and a neat style. The rocking chairs on the deck and the fresh decorations made it feel just like home. The owners, next door, invited us over for a drink by their bonfire which was so welcoming! And the dog thought he had gone to heaven being able to chase waves and jump off the dock for 3 days straight. We reccomend Riley's Fine Food for supper, the Pokegama Dam Rec area in Grand Rapids and Scenic State park. Can't wait to go back.
We had a great few days at this Cabin! The Cabin itself is very well taken care of and has everything you need. Very cute personal touches make you feel right at home and it's very cozy. Amazing views of this beautiful lake provided by the many windows and full window doors of the cabin. Our children thouroughly enjoyed the bunk beds and cozy fireplace nook in the cabin. The lake and location of the cabin is simply fantastic! It was so quiet and peaceful and very secluded. The water was perfect and so much fun to swim in. The clear water and sandy beach were great for our kids. My boys loved how they could swim out so far and still touch! The paddle boat and fishing boat were a nice touch. There were bald eagles flying around everyday right in front of the cabin and also a family of ducks who kept swimming by. Many loons always on the water and it was so relaxing listening to their beautiful calls. We were unfortunate to not catch any fish, but the owners were more than accomodating and even gave us some tips on where to try. Very memorable vacation and we would definetely return!
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The lake is very peaceful, the rocking chairs were a wonderful addition. It was nice to sit on the deck and watch the ducks and loons. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed. It was also very nice to have the owners next door in case we needed anything. The only suggestion I would make would be to put curtains on the bedroom windows.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this cabin. The cabin has 2 sets of bunk beds that were great for the kids. The cabin is small, but very cozy. The lake is quiet and beyond beautiful. We used the paddle boat and the fishing boat with the motor and got plenty use out of both. The boys enjoyed catching fish off the dock and from the boat. The owners own a cabin next door and were more than accommodating. The only suggestions I have are that the refrigerator and freezer could be colder. The ice melted in the freezer and the fridge kept things cool, but not cold. The other suggestion is to have blinds on the bedroom windows. It's a gorgeous view to wake up to, but privacy would be a nice option. Also, bring LOTS of bug spray. This obviously is not anything the owners can control and we sure didn't let the bugs ruin our great time at this little place of paradise.
