About Linda Brundage

We've always had a passion for building and renovating homes, and gardening. We relocated from Corvallis to Bend in 1990, and have never looked back. We raised our daughter here, and consider Bend to be our home.

Linda Brundage purchased this bungalow in 2000

Why Linda Brundage chose Bend

A realtor friend found this property for us. It was a diminutive 447 square feet with a sagging roof, windows askew, and no foundation! And so of course, we fell in love with it and had to have it. Of all the building/remodeling projects we've ever taken on, this is the one we knew was special. After much research, planning, and conversations with the local Historic Society, we embarked on the adventure of restoring (and adding to...) the property. This home is a true gem. We are proud to offer it as a vacation rental; your temporary home away from home.

What makes this bungalow unique

Walk everywhere! Downtown, grocery stores, more! Perched on a rock outcropping on a corner lot, facing south, overlooking the old mill area. In the heart of it all.

Guestbook comments from the owner

My family and I stayed here recently and had such a lovely time. The home was incredibly clean, and fully stocked with paper towels, toilet paper, dish soap, etc. It was exactly as pictured and very comfortable. It was also very close to downtown Bend and we walked to breakfast and dinner every day during our stay. We will definitely book this home again next summer for our yearly trip to Bend.

Wonderful bungalow in central Bend location

  • 5 of 5
My husband, 5-year daughter, and I recently stayed 3 nights at the bungalow and had a wonderful time. This attractive bungalow is very comfortable, nicely furnished, very clean, and has everything you'll need (e.g., kitchen well stocked, washer/dryer). Although we never found time to use them, the grill and outdoor patio table/chairs were much appreciated. Next time... The location is hard to beat - only 3 blocks to downtown in a quiet neighborhood. We come to Bend every summer and this is the place we'll stay from now on.

Beautiful home in a great location

  • 5 of 5
We spent most of our time in Bend playing outdoors, but it was great to have such a nice place to come home to. The house was clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. It's an easy walk to town where you'll find many great restaurants. I talked to Linda on the phone a couple of times and she was very nice to work with. As for activities - If you are mountain bikers, Phil's Trail offers options for all levels from toddlers to advanced. If you like hiking, try Tumalo Falls - a beautiful place. Tumalo Creek kayak and canoe rents boats and we tried paddle boarding at one of their demo nights -it was a great way to check it out.

Excellent Rental

Rental was in fantastic condition. Nice features, great location very close to downtown. The renter even included a list of emergency numbers, which was appreciated as we have young children. She was very responsive and helpful with questions.

Brilliant!

  • 5 of 5
We loved our 6 day stay in this bungalow with our daughter - beautifully decorated, with all the comforts of home and walking distance to downtown. We had a great time on the Cascade Lakes National Scenic byway - loved Sparks lake. We popped into 10 of the Bend Ale Trail breweries, got a pint in 3!!

Linda was great to work with and very helpful with fishing and eating recommendations. We loved breakfast at the West Side Cafe - HUGE cinnamon rolls! Dinner in Pastini Pastaria in the Old Mill was great too.

Looking to move to Bend in the future, we will definitely be back and hope this gem isn't booked up!

Owner's Response: I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay. Our aim is to provide our guests with the best experience possible at out cottage, and are always happy to offer suggestions or recommendations. Sparks Lake is by far one of the most beautiful lakes.

Adorable cottage right in heart of Bend!

  • 5 of 5
My husband and I stayed here recently and after looking at several other rental home options in Bend, settled on this one and we couldn't have been more thrilled!

This home was so beautifully decorated yet had a comfortable charm that made us feel right at home. The kitchen was clean with all modern amenities and had everything we needed. The bathroom was fully stocked and there were extra blankets in both bedrooms, an ironing board, and the mattress in the master was unbelievably comfortable.
Also, this home truly is right in the heart of downtown Bend and easy walking to all the local hot spots (dining, boutique shops, incredible coffee, etc). In the morning we would walk down to Palate which is a small coffee shop on Colorado Ave, and get scones and some of the best brew we've ever tasted. For lunch we would either do the short walk to the Taco Stand (about a block away) or even down to Salud Kitchen and Juice bar (two blocks away). We even walked down to The Old Mill District (the other hub of Bend) where we shopped, relaxed by the river where people were tubing/floating down the river, and saw a movie in the evening at the theater. We never even needed our car.

My husband and I are already talking about booking our stay here again and bringing along some friends, since there was plenty of space for another couple in the 2nd bedroom.
Linda, the owner was so easy and friendly to work with and made the entire process very simple.

We highly recommend staying here, one of the best vacation rentals we've ever stayed at!
