No entry

  • 1 of 5
Booked in July and NO arrival/entry instructions until we finally reached (after multiple attempts) Daddy, at The Barlow, just 2 days before our arrival.
Upon arrival, after numerous phone calls to Donnie's father, and to Donnie, we found ourselves locked-OUT. The upper renters happened to come back from the grocer as we sat attempting to contact; they went thru and discovered an unknown entry thru their upper level. We FINALLY gained access.
1 towel. No bath matt. No kitchen towel, no pan, trash can; no instructions for AC-Heat. NO wifi.
I highly recommend you select another accommodation, as response and customer service to this studio is far below par, for this well-travelled, and usually very forgiving traveller.

Great location, but......

  • 1 of 5
We spent 4 days at this studio. The location and the views are unbeatable, and what's there is very nice. But as frequent VRBO renters, there were many things that we expected to see that we didn't:
1. We were provided exactly two bath towels, one hand towel, and zero wash cloths. (If we'd stayed at a hotel for the same price, we would've received lots of towels and would've even had to option of fresh towels each day!)
2. The entire studio is carpeted in very nice, soft white carpet, but there isn't any place to wipe your feet or even take your shoes off as you enter the studio. We ended up using one of the aforementioned two towels as a mat in front of the door to wipe our feet on.
3. There isn't a single chair in the entire studio, nor is there a table (other than the ping pong table).
4. There is one nightstand, that had a lamp with no bulb. We had to take a bulb out of another lamp in the place whenever one of us wanted to read in bed. (Other places we've stayed have had a supply of bulbs in case one burned out....not here).
5. No screens on any windows. No blackout curtains in the bedroom.
6. Poorly equipped kitchen: Two awful-looking frying pans, two plates, two forks, two knives, no pots.
7. No oven, no toaster, no toaster oven.
8. The parking situation is difficult at best. You have to move your car every two hours from 7am to 6:30pm, and when we'd come home at night, we'd have trouble finding anyplace at all to put our car.
9. The steep stairs leading down to the place are clearly non-compliant with building code and are quite hazardous.
10. The light outside the front door was burned out (making the hazardous steps even more hazardous at night).
11. Most importantly, the communication with owner was beyond terrible. The toilet clogged while we were staying there, and to this day he has still never responded to our request for help. We ended up buying a plunger and fixing it ourselves. (He still owes us $8 for the plunger!) He also promised to bring us a chair so my husband could do some work (sitting at the ping pong table, I guess), but never did. Mostly he just ignored our texts, voicemails, and emails. I could've probably forgiven everything else listed here if only the owner had been responsive and professional.

Best Kept Secret in Sausalito!

  • 4 of 5
This was a great place to have a long weekend after a long week of traveling for work. The place was so clean and fresh, with such beautiful views of the bay, that we were immediately relaxed and refreshed.
Centrally located and within easy walking distance of the best restaurants, shops, and sights Sausalito has to offer.
We had a car and parking was a bit tricky. Although you can park on the street, it is only 2 hour parking during the day. You really have to search for unlimited parking.
Who needs San Francisco when you can have it all in the heart of Sausalito!
