The Jesse Cooper cottage sits just behind the Historical Jesse Cooper House built in 1911. We are 2 1/2 miles from Georgetown sitting atop the hill on Wilbarger Point. You can see Georgetown, as well as Southwestern University from our hilltop. The cottage has one bedroom and one bath. It is furnished and decorated to make you feel at home and to give you the opportunity to relax and enjoy the view. The kitchen is fully equipped with all needed appliances. The cottage has a full size washer and dryer, direct tv, flat screen tv, and is centrally heated and air conditioned. We are a pet friendly property. We have pets and are glad to allow you to bring your pet, with a special agreement with us. We love to garden, so you will be able to experience gardening (and possibly some fresh veggies), while you are here. We are 1/2 mile west of I-30 and 3 miles east of I-35. You have easy access to Georgetown, Austin, Round Rock, and the Hill Country. We are willing to have a special dessert waiting for you in the cottage upon your arrival by special request. We live on-site, so are always happy to help with locations of places you would like to visit. We have tried to make the cottage a place that we would enjoy staying in.
Jimmy and I moved to Wilbarger Point, after searching for the perfect 'old house'. We have spent hours and hours giving the property the tender loving care it needed to bring it back to life. Susan is a retired elementary school teacher and Jimmy recently retired, after 41 years with the electric company. Our priorities are Faith, Family, and Friends. We love spending time with our family/ grand-kids, gardening, hunting, fishing, sewing, quilting, smocking, cooking, and canning. Our two children, Corrie and Josh, both graduated from Texas A & M. Their spouses also graduated from Texas A & M. We love living in Georgetown and are thrilled with the opportunity to share our place with others.
Susan or Jimmy Snow purchased this chateau / country house in 1995
We both have always loved old houses and old things. When we moved to Georgetown, the historical properties always charmed us. We fell in love with San Gabriel park and spent many hours there when our kids were younger. When we learned of the Jesse Cooper House, we spent several years trying to make it ours. When the timing was right, it happened and we have been blessed to live here.
From the hill, we have a wonderful view of the sunsets and sunrises. There is always a breeze. You get the feel of being out in the country, but also the luxury of being close to town.
We enjoyed our time at Jimmy and Susan’s cottage. We were thankful for the little things that some people might forget. Since we suffered with colds and allergies while we were there, we were thankful for the boxes of kleenex in the living room and bedroom. Also, since we had quite a cold spell we were thankful for the wall heater in the bathroom. The cottage had everything we needed. It was quiet and the view of Georgetown was awesome especially at night with all the lights. Susan gave us suggestions for good eating places. Jimmy took the time to take our grandchildren on a ride in his 4 wheeler out to the back forty to see wild animals. They are the reason we go to this area for a while in the winter. Thank you Jimmy and Susan for making our time enjoyable. You are the best!
Susan and Jimmy have gone to great lengths to give this cottage a very comfortable, cozy feel. They've thought of EVERYTHING to make your stay convenient and worry-free. The cottage is close to all shopping with easy access to I-35 and other major arteries.
Relaxing, perfect stay for a weekend getaway! Down a private road in the quite, peaceful countryside, but 2 minutes from town. It was nice not having to worry about the car and it was so quite. The cottage had everything we needed and our dog was no problem. Susan and Jimmy are the king of people you would like to have as life- long friends. Thanks for a great stay!
Nice pet friendly location for short or long term stay just minutes from Southwestern U. We will be back.
I was able to rent the cottage for a last minute vacation. Since I was traveling with my dog, having someone work with me and be welcoming of my furry friend was a wonderful relief. The cottage itself was perfect for my weekend get away and Georgetown had a great atmosphere and trails that my dog loved. Of course, my hostess was wonderful and was available if I had any issues or questions.
While our own home has been going thru reconstruction due to water damage, this sweet cottage has been our home away from home since July 8th. The Snow's warm hospitality made us feel welcome from the moment we got here ! Totally a way of feeling "at home". It is a nice and quiet location. Sitting outside enjoying the evening is very relaxing and the views are amazing ! We totally invite you to come enjoy this cottage. In a stressful situation, it has been our refuge. =)
The city of Georgetown has much to offer. The square has live entertainment, restaurants, shopping, and wineries. The San Gabriel Park is amazing. We think that Georgetown has the best Mexican food in the area, and that is at Dos Salsa (you will probably see us there.) We are close to great shopping at the outlet mall in Round rock. The hill country isn't far, and, of course, Austin is full of things to do.
