Eating Out:
Full details of all the local restaurants in the area are contained in the information packs in each property. They range from Chez Viviane (5 mins.by car), simple, satisfying and cheap to La Vieille Auberge (5 mins) owned by the local Maire and excellent, to Auberge de St Julien aux Bois (10 mins).also very good. Further afield at Argentat (20 mins) there are 2 first class restaurants, one on the bank of the Dordogne, and for the adventuresome some other hidden gems in the area but a little further afield.
Sightseeing:
You can either walk down through the fields and woods or drive the 5 mins to Les Tours de Merle, a 12th Century Feudal Citadel and a national historic monument.Situated on the borders of Le Lot, Auvergne and Limousin and 15 mins from the Dordogne River, there is a huge range of villages, churches,monuments and sights worth visiting. They range from Collonges La Rouge and Beaulieu sur Dordogne and the gorges and dams on the Dordogne River in Correze, to Salers,Puy Mary and the Volcanic Peaks of the Massif Central in Auvergne and treasures such as Conques and the many sights in the Lot. Locally there are a range of magnificent walks in the hidden hills and valleys that surround the property,canoeing, boat excursions and swimming on the Dordogne, horse riding from the local village, rock climbing for those so inclined. But above all the property offers peace and serenity, free from traffic, pollution and noise.
