A little piece of heaven....

Along with 8 other very close friends we arrived at the Villa Vista with a delicious and fun lunch under our belts at nearby Ston for a week's R + R. And that is exactly what it turned out to be, and more! As with most photos, it is difficult to capture just how amazing the view is from the terrace - as far as the eye can see, sparkling sea with the hills and mountains of Korcula as a beautiful backcloth. The large terrace table hosted many a long lunch or dinner and the odd glass or two of excellent local wine and we barbecued fresh local fish a couple of times which was fun.
Inside, this old stone ruin (I believe an old mariner's home) has been skilfully and tastefully renovated to provide everything a large group or family needs during a holiday. A well thought out kitchen, large reception room (if you have to be inside) but does it ever rain? All the beds got rave reviews as did the ample, soft, comfortable pillows. The pool, reached by several steps through sensitively planted flowers and shrubs provided a relaxing area for all of us to swim, sun bathe, read, look at the views and share the odd cocktail or three!
The comprehensive “house book” provided us with all the information we needed to make our holiday very special – information about a day’s yacht trip, sea taxis to a terrific lunch spot with a fab bay for swimming, other suggested day trips, good local restaurants and recommended vineyards to sample the local wine.
All in all a memorable week not only because of the friends we were with but being in a villa that had been brought back to life with a creative vision for the future enjoyment for all. The owners are to be congratulated!
