Log Cabin on Pelican Lake in Orr, MN
Come and watch the loons of Pelican Lake in our beautiful 2,200 square foot log cabin. Beautifully situated on 4.5 wooded acres with over 450 feet of lake frontage along the south shore of Pelican Lake, an immense 11,500 acre lake known for its excellent fishing. This three level year-round cabin sleeps between 7 and 10. It has a fully equipped kitchen, dining room and spacious living room, tastefully furnished in comfortable furniture and some antiques. There is a master bedroom with double bed, two separate sleeping lofts with a total of three twin beds and a couch, and a finished basement with two additional twin beds. The futon couch in the living room folds down to a very comfortable double bed if additional space is needed.The cabin is heated by propane and wood stove and the water is from our well. The wrap-around deck provides plenty of space for relaxation and dining al fresco. Cabin comes complete with boat dock and use of two kayaks and a canoe. Fishing and swimming is great right off the dock. There is TV with DVD and ample video library along with WIFI for those who need to stay connected with the outside world. If you get tired of fishing, bird watching (loons, eagles, ospreys, pelicans), swimming, canoeing and kayaking, you can always go to the Vince Shutte Black Bear Sanctuary about 15 minutes away. The only bear sanctuary in the US- and watch bears mingle around food plots provided by the sanctuary. Other local attractions include the Comet Movie Theater in Cook. Movies always begin at 7 p.m. It has been in operation since 1938---so it is a step back in time. Ely - the gateway to the Boundary Waters - about 1 hour and 15 minutes away. Hibbing, the childhood home of Bob Dylan, is 1 hour away. There are mine tours also in Hibbing. And don't forget The Dam Restaurant in Orr where you can get your fill of Walleye if you weren't successful fishing that day. There is a visitors center right before the town of Orr that has a Bog Walk and many brochures about area sites. There are raspberries to pick right in our front yard. There are blueberries along our shoreline also. Let the loons of Elliott Point lull you to sleep. This is the vacation home for you if you want to relax and rejuvenate.

Maureen's cabin is beautiful! Spacious, nicely decorated, comfortable, and with a beautiful view of the lake. Our favorite activity might have been sitting on the big front porch with our coffee and watching all the beautiful butterflies dancing on the lilac bushes!
