About Jody

I've spent my adult life living in Boston's North End, 'little Italy' . I've been working in the hotel and restaurant industry all over Boston. Working at Faneuil Hall Market Place, the Copley Marriott, the Westin Hotel and the Rowes Warf Hotel. I have recently retired from 25 years at the Marriott. I have been involved with vacation rentals for the past 7 years and it's now become my full time job. I have successfully managed our vacation rental home in Popponesset, Cape Cod and have returned to Wildmeadows to update and share with you our family 'up country' get away. You can find my reviews of Camp Inches if you google Camp Inches NH . 'Camp Inches' has been in my family for over 70 years. I've combined my hospitality skills and my love of nature to share with you. Come and experience the beauty of quiet surroundings.Get away from it all at Camp Inches on Wildmeadow River. I will devote myself to you and yours and try my best to make sure you are happy and satisfied with your stay here.

Jody purchased this house in 1944

Why Jody chose Newfound Lake

This is a treasured family property, handed down through 2 generations

What makes this house unique

I fell in love with Camp Inches because of it's rustic charm, unique layout and peaceful location. I am especiall drawn to the proximity of the Wildmeadows River to our home. The waterfall into the swimming pool is unique and sets Camp Inches apart. Even with the windows closed, you can hear the river!! It's so soothing and relaxing. The 5 sliding glass doors bring the outdoors right in. The 9 acres I own, walking distance from the property, is spectacular for walks. The river abuts that whole property too and you can find trails to walk and little sand dunes cut out along the river to rest.

FIVE "Nature-loving" STARS!

FIVE "Nature-loving" STARS!

It is my immense pleasure to give Camp Inches the highest recommendation. Tucked away along a quiet dirt road, nestled next to the Wild Meadow stream, Camp inches is an oasis of solitude, peace, quiet, and nature -- including: Goldfinch, Hummingbirds, blackberries, and a great swimmin' hole right off the back porch; yet less than an hour from all the other fun events New Hampshire has to offer. If you ski, Ragged Mountain is only 10 minutes away. Build a fire outside in the fire pit or inside in the cast iron wood stove. What struck me, the moment I set foot inside the cabin at Camp Inches was the attention to detail, how immaculately neat and tidy everything was, and all the pleasant homespun touches that set Camp Inches apart from the rest. I must say, the photos on the website are good, but can't do Camp Inches justice. Seeing Camp Inches is knowing you have found a home away from home. This great feeling can only come from one who lovingly cares and manages the property -- Jody! Well done, Jody! I'll be back! ... I give Camp Inches FIVE "nature loving" STARS!

Camp Awesome!

Camp Inches is an excellent spot for your weekend getaway or a week long family vacation. I, along with my husband and family, stayed for 3 nights in early June, 2014. The weather was absolutely fantastic, allowing us to walk barefoot in the grass, when not sitting around the fire pit, near the river that runs the length of the property. From there I could see the nice sized deck off the bedroom we stayed in. What a nice view of the brook from there. There are 2 bedrooms in the house, with extra futons and a pullout bed in the living room. The house is lengthy and comfy, nicely decorated with sliding glass doors everywhere. There are skylights in the living room with the big stove. I appreciate the tasteful, away from it all decor.

When it was time for meals, we fired up the Webber grill that is on the front porch. A horse and buggy drove by on the nice, dirt road. The house was stocked with everything you need. Pots, pans, spices, spring water, towels, washer/dryer, TVs with Netflix, Amazon and she even said we could use her potatoes.

For me, the best part about the place is the huge, enclosed in porch in the back, where you get a full view of the nature that surrounds the place. My husband braved the cold water and got into the swimming hole by the waterfall, while we watched and laughed at his squealing from the shady, enclosed porch, occasionally looking up from our books and drinks. Oh, and there was trout in the water. Not big, but trout nonetheless less. It was so relaxing. There is just something about a back porch that puts you in the zone. Great for falling asleep with the babbling, gurgling brook. If you like to sleep in the outdoors, there's a comfy futon in a cozy corner of the porch.

And this brings me to Jody, the owner of Camp Inches, (along with her husband). She is the nicest woman you will ever meet. I knew I wanted to stay there once talking with her on the phone. She is the sweetest woman, who met us when we got there and gave us the grand tour. A hug from her was a nice, surprising gesture. And we were left to get on with our weekend, knowing that she was just a phone call away if we needed something. I left Jody an Apple Cider Yankee Candle as I appreciated her warmth and the comfort in this home away from home. You will absolutely enjoy your stay as we did. We would have stayed longer than 3 days if we had the time. We are already planning our next stay as we felt so welcomed. Thank you Jody for sharing your precious home.
