Lakeland nr Orlando:
This is the next county down from Orlando, so just outside the tourist stronghold. You live and breath with the locals. Wine and dine in restaurants where the English accent is still a novelty and queuing is a rarity. Carefree shopping, without inflated prices. The Lakeland mall is huge with 4 department stores alone. A cinema right by the mall, also many different shops that are worth just looking around. Golf is great - its built around the villa - designed by a Scotsman and maintained to a high standard. Prices are from $16 including Electric golf cart
Downtown:
Down town Lakeland is amazing with many beautiful lakes giving that rich southern feel. The antique quarter with all its interesting shops. The new Lakeside village just 20 minutes away with new shops restaurants and the huge Cobb movie Theatre. The parks, the water - everywhere - the art gallery and the southern people. These are just a few items that make this a special place for us - we use our villa every year and hope to retire out there - eventually.
Attractions:
Disney is junction 57 on the Interstate 4, we are junction 33. Only 30 minutes in between. Universal and Sea world about 45 minutes, NASA 90 minutes. The Gulf coast 60/70 minutes. As you see we are very central to many places. Tampa Airport 50 minutes. Sanford about 90 minutes.
