If you want a quiet, "do-nothing", blissful escape where you are on your own for just about everything and way ok with that, this is the place. If you want luxury, to be entertained and your drinks brought to you, this isn't it. Danielle was GREAT to work with and gave lots of great tips and info. Super grateful she recommended a boat rental once she knew we were avid boaters. Wow, what a place. Danielle's place is great and we needed nothing. Any questions we had were answered promptly. Anything we thought we needed, she offered to take over--but we declined. Home is as pictured and then some. Stayed w/a family of 6 +1 and we were all comfortable with ample room to sleep, shower, stretch out & relax. We only wished for a fire pit ring (can't help it--we're Michiganders!) and a couple hammocks. Kitchen is small, but well-appointed and worked well. Grill is awesome and the ice machine was total bonus! Porch furniture is great & was utilized by the adults every morning (bliss!!) and at night when kids were in bed. You can see & hear the ocean from there! Ahhh. Beach was super close for sunsets, dock was super close for taxi service and boat/kayaking. Great spot. Recommend getting groceries at the WalMart in Englewood--the Publix up the road was very expensive. There is a Dollar General on your way to Eldred's for inexpensive fun items, pick up some $1 nets on a stick if you've got kids. We used ours every day for underwater critter and nighttime crab catching! Eldred's Marina is very nice to work with for parking ($6/day) and info. Chat up the guys on the taxi ($10/person), you'll learn a lot and be entertained! If you are an experienced boater and know how tides work, definitely rent a boat and go exploring. We used Manatee River Rentals; John might run on island time but we'd definitely use him and his boats again. Stump Pass and Cayo Costa-north end was beautiful, but Captiva Pass was our favorite. The wildlife we saw was astounding, even had dolphins next to and under our boat! The kids had a ball snorkeling for sea critters in the clear, warm bay & gulf waters. (nothing alive was kept!) Neighbors all gather for sunset. Most of the folks on the island were so super friendly. We all felt very safe, very laid back and incredibly relaxed. The colors were just stunning. It was a much needed vacation for the mind, heart and soul and it was truly the best vacation we've ever experienced. I have a feeling we'll be back! Thank you, Danielle!
My daughter and her family join us on our stay here, We really enjoyed our stay there, my grandchildren had a lot of fun on the beach and riding around the island on the golf cart, we even seen the turtle somewhere on the island every day and the house had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. having the ice machine and washer/dyer was really nice, the only thing missing was a toaster, we made toast in the oven. It was nice to have a vacation that was back to nature, it was a relaxing vacation Thanks Danille for a wonderful time Janine
