Stockbridge House Rental Photos and Description
Newly Constructed. Modern Home Bright With Natural Light And Beautiful Carpentry
We call this house 'South Sedgwick' because of its location on a piece of land formerly used by the Sedgwick family for picnicking--an ideal spot for relaxation with stunning views of Monument Mountain and Ice Glen.
The house is newly constructed with ash hardwood floors, custom white pine trim and mahogany decks. The interior has an open-concept floor plan inviting abundant natural light. Custom built-in features include a handmade nook bench looking out over an expansive nature preserve, a vibracustic hydrotherapy spa tub, an upstairs coffee porch, and more.
We have a first floor master suite. If you require handicap access please contact us regarding your needs.
Beautiful, big back yard opens into 11 acres of wooded land, where the Konkapot brook runs nearby. For those with a sense of adventure, trek through the woods and use this brook as a push off spot for leisurely kayaking through nearby rivers with gorgeous natural vistas. For the less experienced adventurer, there is an easily accessible kayak push off .1 miles away. Toward the western border of the house lies scenic railway tracks, now concealed by forest. The historic train station is only .3 miles away.
This prime location is in the center of the cultural epicenter known as the Berkshires. Nearby attractions include: Tanglewood, Berkshire Theater Festival, Naumkegg Gardens, and Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival.

Our family of 5 rented this home over July 4th weekend and we couldn't have been more pleased. The home has just been newly renovated, is very tastefully appointed and looks and feels brand new both inside and out. It also has every amenity we could've hoped for, such as state-of-the-art kitchen appliances, wi-fi, cable TV plus Netflix, dual zone central air, a nice gas grill, multiple outdoor decks and seating areas, even motion sensing waste baskets!- and it sits on a very large, well manicured and secluded swath of land, even though it is centrally located literally just moments from downtown Stockbridge. The home had more than enough space for all of us - in fact, it could've accommodated double our number quite comfortably. Although there weren't any children in our group, the home is great for kids, featuring a kids bedroom and an ample supply of board games and toys intended for guest use. In addition to how lovely the home was, I can't say enough nice things about Teva, the owner. Teva made sure he was there to greet us when we arrived, so he could walk us through the house and show us all the property has to offer. He even put out wine and cheese for us! He was extremely down-to-earth and friendly, taking the time to answer our questions and give us recommendations for activities in the area. He even offered to let us call him over the weekend in case we needed more suggestions or information about things to do. As special as the home is, Teva's warm hospitality made our stay all the more pleasant and enjoyable. We will definitely be back, and I highly recommend this home to anyone interested in a high-quality Berkshires getaway!

Nick and I bought this house in 2007. I was eager to learn about building and Nick an old friend, who at the age of four had asked for a tool belt for Christmas was willing to help. We started to plan a renovation of the old house and realized while we were assessing the amount of renovations that were going to be necessary there really was not much we could save. Nick and I then went through a painstaking slow process of deconstructing the house by hand hoping to find something to salvage. In the end we tore it completely down and built the house back up with our own hands. Using the best quality materials and Nick's eye for design, we constructed an amazing home that we are proud of. The story of the perseverance, hard work and creative ideas that went into this house is truly uplifting and you will feel that way while staying here.
We loved the location. Walking distance to downtown Stockbride with a large piece of land. Right in the center of the most happening places in the Berkshires. A drive to Lee, Lenox or Great Barrington is about the same. Less than 10 minutes.
We love the views from this property. We were excited when we found out the Sedgwick family used to picnic on the land because of the unique views.
The many outdoor seating areas are truly special as is the bright and modern inside.
