Notes: A fabulous 10x5m pool is a feature of the property that is set in an enclosed walled and landscaped garden area. The pool has been enclosed sympathetically to retain the character and views, but does provide a greater degree of security and safety for families with young children, with its stone walls and pretty iron fencing with lockable gate. The pool is equipped with its own sunbeds and has a gazebo providing permanent poolside shade. Within the garden/patio there is shade under the terracota roof canopy and surrounding trees, making it ideal for alfresco dining. A real benefit of this property is the attention to detail we place on ensuring the pool is cleaned regularly throughout your stay to ensure your maximum enjoyment. There are various pool toys/inflatables for your use. There is also a table tennis table located in the games/utility area.

We rent both villas ( casa + trullo) 2 weeks with friends
We were not disappointed as it was similar to the descriptions and photos . It's a very pleasant character house , beautiful garden and restful swimming pool in a peaceful area. Fresh patio for meals. Fabulous view on the countryside . .We appreciate the booklet provided in each house in which there is a lot of information about the house and tourism ( what to see around )
The property manager team and especially Steve and Jo is very nice and responsive

relaxing vacation

This property is landscaped and maintained beautifully. The home and pool sit on a rise and the view at night is beautiful. The villa itself is spacious, with four bedrooms and two bathrooms. Great for a large group who wants some privacy. Nice maps with walks and information on beaches and towns to visit were in villa. The surrounding towns are easy to reach and each one has something of interest. Steve, who manages the property, is just great. I would definately return. Oh, there are cherry trees all around with amazing cherries!

Relaxing Italian style

sunnystay Taunton Somerset UK
Review Submitted: January 15, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2008
It’s not often that you get exactly what you want but this was the holiday we had hoped for – I did not want to feel like a British holidaymaker in a holiday home using shops which were stocked just for visitors and this area is not typical Brit territory - the shops were for the locals but we were made very welcome and found plenty to please.
The property was better than the description because it is hard to describe the character of the house and the atmosphere of the location. I liked the fact that the all the contents are fresh, new and well maintained and exceptionally clean. It is a rustic home but the showers were modern and powerful and the kitchen well appointed including a dishwasher and freezer and there is tv, video and cd player so all the family were happy. With children it was very useful having a washer provided as well. The furnishings are good quality so the simple farmhouse feels like a luxury holiday home. The location is quiet and peaceful but not isolated. All around the property the views are wide open and beautiful especially at night when the distant lights sparkle. We dined outside at night, it was really quite magical. The landscape is rocky and sunbleached with vines and olives and it felt very foreign after England which was a welcome contrast - the Trulli which are evident all around lend an exotic feel. The local shops had fantastic fresh food and we dined very well with little effort on the local produce. Restaurants were not expensive and we tried quite a number from the suggested list in the details provided – the children were made welcome. Walking in Alberobello at night was a pleasure - many families out promenading with young and old alike eating ice cream - it felt very safe and very sociable. We did not go to any bars but joined the locals drinking coffee and beer outside in the market square.
Local markets had great bargains, clothes, shoes, antiques and food. We spent a lot of time by the pool (again really nice and clean) and on bikes and reading in the shade. There were lots of books on offer in the house which was a thoughtful touch and typical of a holiday home where no corners appear to have cut.
The local roads around the area are easy to navigate and the aurostrada was almost deserted – quite a shock after the M1 and M25.
After this holiday we were sad to leave, it had been a real change of pace with a simple lifestyle and one I would happily recommend

A Taste of Puglian Paradise

Jananne Tingewick, Bucks, UK
Review Submitted: January 8, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2008
We have booked to return to here for our third successive holiday which indicates how much we love staying here.

The property is tastefully furnished throughout with comfortable mattresses, good facilities and thoughtful touches that make it the perfect home-from-home in the sunshine. A first aid kit, sewing kit, CDs of various musical tastes, books and games are but a few of these.

It is spotlessly clean and very well-maintained; even outside, the pool-side garden and terrace have been very thoughtfully considered and tended.

The owner has always provided an excellent customer service - comprehensive directions, places of interest to visit, market days, etc.and is all too happy to assist with advice and answers to any questions we may have had.

We have highly recommended this property to our friends and this Summer, a family of four of them have booked to stay in the adjoining property while we're there.

The property is set in an exceptionally peaceful area, enjoying surrounding views of open countryside and the drive into the nearest town of Alberobello is a short distance of 10 minutes.

Here there are a good number of restaurants, shops and places to visit for its size - notably an intersecting group of narrow lanes up a hill with the famous conical-shaped trulli buildings on either side. Most of these trulli - except for some still being homes to the locals - are restaurants and shops selling all kinds of mouth-watering foodstuffs, linens, jewellery and much more.

The cuisine of this region is simple but delicious, cheap and so freshly produced. A wonderful meal can be enjoyed at the majority of restaurants in town. There are many nearby towns that deserve a visit too; each having its own character and points of interest. The coast from the property, situated in the middle of Puglia, is also within easy reach to either the Adriatic or Ionian.

I would highly recommend staying at La Casa. It is a fantastic base from which to discover a region of Italy that still remains a relative unknown to the British tourist. It's an area that is completely unspoilt, tranquil and very beautiful, and hence why it is our own taste of paradise.
